  • This video tutorial demonstrates how to use the FX2N-4AD Analog to Digital Converter using the TO and FROM instructions.This ADC Special Function Block is used to receive the analog signals from industrial process control transducers and convert it into digital signal before it can be processed by the PLC. To demostrate the operation of the FX2N-4AD ADC, a 0-100 ºC range with a proportional analog output of 0-10V Temperature Transmitter was used.

    Hi, How do you set a program for FX3U-4AD-ADP (Analog Input) for Understand the Current temperature for the machine ? At the same time, I can set the temperature for the machine to have the temperature at a certain level. By the way, My PLC type is FX3G Series one.

      You have to turn on special auxiliary M8280 to M8283 for channel 1 to channel 4 respectively to set to current. Then you can read the analog value converted to digital value from 0-1600 (4-20mA) from data registers D8280 to D8283 for ch1 to ch4 respectively.

      I see. I would like to know if my analog input, I set in Channel 1. Meanwhile, I also set the analog output in Channel 1. Is it allowed to do that or I need to change the Channel differently at the Channel for Analog output and input ?

      @@yewjieh3897 you should use M8290 to M8293 and D8290 to D8293 for the second adapter. the analog to digital conversion for 4-20mA is 0-4000.

    May I know how do u calculate the number after the dot? like ' 0.05 C ' (temperature) ? Why did it need to divide by 100 too?
    Another question is What can I do if I just want the temperature number like ' 0.5 C' ? Does that mean I just need to divide by 10 only or use the other way to calculate it ?

      0.5 is floating number. so you have to use instructions for floating point divisions/ multiplications such as DEDIV/DEMUL

    How do you know the temperature number need to divide by 20 for the scale?

      The digital output of FX2N-AD is 0-2000 for 0-10V analog value. That's why I divide it by 20 so that when I got a 10V analog input, it would be equivalent to 100 degrees celsius.

      @@yewjieh3897 i used that instruction to convert the remainder from the previous division operation in order to get a decimal point. That is only a trick because the PLC i used for that demonstration is FX1N which is not capable of floating point operation

      depend on your PLC type. if it has DEDIV function then it is easier. just follow the programming manual of the plc.

    Sir hingi lang po sana ako ng tulong merin kaming plc fx3u-60mr with extention fx2n-2ad, sir di mawala ung error 1040, atsaka wala kaming makhang voltahe sa output side at saka ung led output number 13 nag blinking po...salamat

      sir yung Y31 and com po. at laging naka blinking yung output 13. Sir pag plc diagnostic namin lumlabas error 1040. sir can i have your mobile number... salamat

      di ko alam ang program na nakadownload diyan sa plc kaya di ko masabi kung ano ang problema sa Y31 at 13.

      sa error 1040, ang input X40 na nasa program ay hindi nadedetect, check mo connector ng input expansion block.
