    I love how different parts of the continent are being showcased by our diaspora brothers and sisters.

    You guys do not know the positive contribution you're making to the continent. I am from Dr Congo and I love what you are doing in Rwanda. Other brothers from the diaspora are doing the same in Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Gambia, Liberia, Zambia, Namibia....
    This is sending a very strong and unmistakable message: Africa needs to unite as Bob Marley put it: for the benefits of ALL its Children, in the continent and in the Diaspora. I wish good luck to all the brothers in Rwanda.
    Be safe bro. I wish your family the best from the bottom of my heart.
    Keep it up bro. We're together in this. Let's make it happen....
    From DR Congo

    I found out about your channel from my mom, lol, she loves you guys. We are Rwandan, so let me tell you now: 1000usd is toooooo much for that house, esp in Kimironko. The most I would pay for that is 650. If I was rolling in it, 700. Don't let them overcharge you because they think you have American money. If you plan on staying, my advice is, in the beginning, find a Rwandan to help you navigate and integrate while you figure things out. Rwandans are welcoming and lovely people but they are still people, like anywhere in the world, not everyone is going to be decent and honourable. Welcome to Rwanda; we are happy to have you.

    • @karimakarumut5038
      @karimakarumut5038 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Anonymous Anyone can buy a house and or land in Rwanda. You don't have to be a citizen to do so. I know non-Rwandans who have property in the country. I am not absolutely sure of the details on how you go about it but the government land and housing website is pretty comprehensive. Again, my advice is, go to Kigali, make connections with people, not real estate agents and the like, but regular people who have no skin in the game, and get them to help you find trustworthy agents. Good luck.

    • @karimakarumut5038
      @karimakarumut5038 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Anonymous If you want somewhere to relax for a short period of time, why not just rent out a holiday house for that time, without going through the hassle of buying? Plus, you don't have to own land, there are finished houses on the market that you can buy as well.

    You should not go yourselves and look for a house because when they know you live in the west, the price becomes high. Send a local guy first to ask the price for you, after that you can go together and see the house. Never go on your own. When they hear your accent they know straightaway you live abroad and they increase the price. Even me with my African accent they still give me high price because when they see me they know I don’t live in the country anymore. For them it’s like I have money. I always send my brother or niece, I don’t go myself.

      I don't agree. All the prices that they've been told so far are the real prices. They're visiting upscaled neighborhoods, those are more expensive. Even for us locals, we'd have to pay the same price. I'm sorry about the experience you had, but it's not the general case

    Build your own house guys and enjoy Africa. Two to three years rent in that house can build your own house.
    I realise Rwanda drive right hand like the UK, so if you need a car from the UK, I can help you arrange one.
    Let no one rip you off, it's very cheap to live a good and happy life in the motherland, if you understand how things work.
    I love the fact diasporans are returning home and everyone deserves peace of mind through affordability of essentials like housing.

      We drive on the right and use left hand cars.
      That is different from the UK system (RH) , hence most used cars are imported from South Korea and Dubai.

      Exchange rates are not a secret and most urban dwelling Africans will have that information off their heads. If not, all one needs to find them are a cheap phone and the internet. Besides, key exchange rates are listed at the end of every business news segment. Basically, Africa is not the $hith0le Trump and most Americans seem to think it is.

    A thousand dollars a month is too much. The guy must have added to the cost for himself.
    Go through a few agents to fine a reasonable price. Don't rush.

    18:52. tip don't ask if it's negotiable , it's better to be polite and tell them how much it is your willing to pay. Also find cons with the house and use them to negotiate a better price.

    This is a nice house. Y’all are at home in Rwanda. It shows. Just in the little time y’all have been there y’all have slimmed down and we know y’all be eating. So it can only be the release of that stuff surviving in the West piles upon us.
