I have the Elite Custom Race cages which look similar to the Vicos in this video. I am super happy with them. Got them earlier this year after finally realizing how much frustration the previous ones caused. Putting back the bottle was an ordeal where I had to aim just right which usually meant having to take my eyes off the road. There were many times when I had to grab the handlebars with the bottle still in my hand and wait until after the corner to perform the maneuver. With the Elite cages I just reach in the general vicinity and the bottle falls in place. Never have to take my eyes off the road. I can't believe how much of a difference a simple bottle cage can make. Why it took me so long -- I have no idea.
Upvoted this because I've had Elite bottle cages for years and this was the first time I realised they are the people making trainers! Mind blown. Yes, the name is a dead giveaway but making that link between king of accessories and underdog of trainers...
The Rocko cages are flipping great! On a Canyon Ultimate size XS, you can forget about trying to fit larger bottles than the 500 ml Fly bottle in those Vico cages. With the Rocko you can, and they allow for bottles with a slightly larger diameter as well.
Hi Gp Lama. Thanks to you for the elite direto review - Last week I’ve got one from Germany to Belarus where I live. Suffering with the Sufferfest and happy a lot)
Nice cages, side pull/insert cages are also necessary/helpful on some mtb bike frames due to sloping top tubes and where shocks are mounted. Would be interesting to know whether these cages could hang onto a bottle on an xc mtb course.
Hi Shane, does that Eroica fit in the bottle cages? I must admit since finding the elite bottles I've been super happy with how they hold their bottles, riding a 53cm frame I can't fit anything bigger than a 550ml bottle so now I'm eyeing off one of them side entrance cages :D Cheers for the content as always
I'm drinking lattés non stop and taking caffeine pills to insure that I'll be awake when you give away the Christmas hamper that includes the Kickr Core, Kickr Climb, the Wahoo Bolt, and the custom Ti Baum frame!
hahaha! You've mistaken this channel for Mr Beast and his copious amounts of cash giveaways. I'm currently saving for the postage costs of this hamper giveaway.
Have been using Tune bottle cages. They look great but destroy Elite Fly bottle cages in a month or two. Do you have the same problems with Elite carbon cages?
Hi lama I also got myself some fly bottles but whenever I drink the bottle/nazzle gets closed itself while drinking. Pretty annoying and I also red that in some reviews. Do you also have this Problem?
Shane Miller - GPLama she said I can only have two since I have two bottle cages , I might get two more if I’m honest . But she will be honest with the trash can and these bottles
FYI there are side pull bottle cages cause bike manufactures just CANNOT get the watter bottle cage placement right on their smaller frames. There is absolutely no F-ing good practical reason to place a bottle cage half way up a 46cm or a 43cm seat tube. Just no. The designers need to be flogged. All the hours they put into perfecting the aerodynamics and handling but they can't figure out that they NEED to place the seat tube bottle cage 5 ~10cm lower.
my Giant Anyroad (gravel/adventure bike) has a major sloped top tube forcing the cage mount on the seat post of my medium frame (for someone 5"8 - 5'11) to be so low that the bottom of my bottle has worn the paint away from the top of the downtube, no cage could stop that from happening if you want to fit a bottle worth using in it. I feel bad for anyone that got a small or extra small frame.
Elite fly bottles are the worse I’ve owned. Scuff and get shabby looking very easily, feel cheap and nasty and probably designed to be replaced more often which defeats the biodegradable environmental hype. Had a Camelbak bottle for years and still going strong and looks better than the fly’s I’ve had for just a few weeks!

Side insertion also works nice if you have an under slung top tube bag. This is the case on my gravel riding adventure bike.
Got to admin, a fan of Elite. They quietly go about their business producing top kit & equipment. Using the turbo muin atm. Beast mode! :)

Side opening bootle cages are not only for small frames. I use 950ml bottles and it’s easier to insert them from the side on my 57 frame.

I use an elite paron (non carbon) on my Giant Anthem 1 and I've never dropped a bottle. From gravel tracks to red/black grade trails.
I use the Vico carbon cages with Corsa bottles and never lost a bottle yet, not even off-road.
I'm with you. I'm old enough that my body is old school without trying. There is no need for my bike to be "old school"

Elite have made custom front handle bar cages for the vintage bottles.
@@gplama I did see them but I was thinking future retro style. They'd suit new titanium bikes so well with normal bottle cages :D

Good timing. I need a cage and bottle :)
Wow im a nerd. Great info on bottle cages.
How is the Leggero in real road? and are pro cycling team using the leggero more than Vico? thx.
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
merry christmas
Oh yes, I love bottles. Aaaaal kindo f them. Always wanted to collect them, but you know........
I love the fly bottles aswell 😂 Got 3 Team | Sky ones!
Buying a lot of SiS products? (I've got 2 as well) 😄
I don’t use cages I carry mine in middle jersey pocket 👌🏽

No problems here. These bottles are more of a squeeze than a suck.
Got sono fly bottles too. Some of them have the same problem.
Solved it just changing the cap
Just for a matter of interest what's the weight of the alloy bottle?
I didn't even weigh it to be honest. If they list the weight on the Elite site, it'll be pretty close based on the others being spot on.
How many times did you say happy days 😂
yeeyyyy christmas hamper!!!!! me me me me me me!!!! yeeeyyy
Would be great on my new road bike.
My mom said she would throwaway my bottles if I get a new one , I think I need to make a sacrifice here.
RIP your mom. 🤔😂

Got the elite cage need a bottle mind you;-)
The side insert cage also allows for the bottles to easily fly out… don’t recommend.

I use elite fly bottles just because my team provides me them for free. Won't spend a cent on one of those

Look out! He's back! I hope you scored a few voting booth snags with the kids today mate.
