But after waiting almost exactly a year since the MOC was released to find out which was quicker, I'm also pleased that I finally know that I chose the faster one.
Rockstar's arbitrary restrictions should've been a clear sign that they don't CARE what makes the game FUN, they only care what sells. There is no reason we can't have city bus races.

Having driven both of the MOC cabs quite extensively: - Without the MOC attached, the Phantom accelerates faster and has a higher top speed than the Hauler, thanks to its quicker gear changes and lower drag coefficient - With the MOC attached, the Hauler accelerates slightly faster and has a higher top speed than the Phantom due to its higher engine power - The Hauler's shorter wheelbase allows it to take corners faster and more easily than the Phantom, but its overall lower traction and bigger max/min traction difference makes it feel less stable overall than the Phantom - The Phantom weighs more than the Hauler and thus has an easier time pushing things out of the way - Both have the same armour
The Hauler Custom is the closest thing we have to a Racing Truck in GTA. And I wish we had more of them to use for regular races, maybe put them in the offroad class like the MTL Dune. It certainly wouldn't be out of place.
The hauler does provide better driver protection than the Phantom though, which is what you want in an armoured truck. Can also survive one more Homing Missile, arguably.

Both explode on either the 4th flak cannon shot, 12th tank cannon shot, 24th RPG/sticky/grenade, or the _69th_ homing missile. They also provide _completely identical_ occupant protection with VIP armored car bullet-resistant windows. In any case, you should be reversing either of them into your enemies like you do with the Zentorno eons ago, so if you're relying on the BR windows (which shatter on one explosion anyway) you're doing it wrong.
The side window bars provide no protection true, stupid rockstar, but the front window armour works. The windows are also smaller and higher. Don't know but it should deform less due to the exoskeleton.

The trailers cannot move under their own power so Im not sure why they would be tested. To me its only testing the cab twice with and without a trailer. Some trailers can be hooked with a Cargobob, does that mean they get the time of a Cargobob?
The Hauler C. may have better cornering but its smaller/shorter size makes it harder to see which heading it is facing when towing the MOC. Both customs have the same armor, & don't forget that the Phantom C., like the Wedge, can seat an additional 3 ppl on the back, the latter also has better engine power in a straight.
I have the Phantom Custom (MOC) and the Phantom Wedge, but the one that I use more often is the Phantom Wedge because its a really great vehicle to use when doing its VIP Mission "Plowed" and you get easy money from doing it.
I'm almost certain you can race some of these vehicles. But you have to create a Transform race to do it and hide the checkpoint for the original vehicle somewhere. Since you have to chose one of the normal classes for the race but you are allowed to make a transform checkpoint for stuff that you normally can't race and use it as the starting vehicle (made a race with the police car). But since you have to have a normal class vehicle it also has to have a checkpoint, so all I did is hide it as a secondary checkpoint away from the track.
It's also because the Hauler custom is a cab-over so you don't really have that much problem turning however the Phantom custom pulls the MOC easier because it has more torque per square inch.
I like when you say "Mule", don't ask me why but you said it a few times in a Random bits video where everyone (mostly 😂) was in a Mule and I love that video so maybe it has something to do with that 🙂
I wish the Phantom Custom got some sort of cow catcher on the front, or whatever those massive ones are on road trains. I understand why the Hauler Custom got what it did, no technical protection on the front, but still.
Would be interesting to compare the #1 of a class, with other classes. IE is the hauler Custom equiv to say the #12 super, and the #8 sport , the #1 sport would be the #? super, etc

Broughy, these videos ARE relevant you see, because these vehicles can be regularly raced in FiveM. At this point, you should just abandon GTA:O altogether because it's just, inferior, entirely. At least for what you use GTAV for. FiveM videos are more enjoyable and from what I've seen so far, way more fun for you. When you're having more fun, it makes the video more fun too. All aboard the FiveM trainnnnn (which you can also probably race in the future lol)
The vehicle stats in simulation racing games are actually accurate, and vary based on tuning upgrades. Different tuning setups are required for peak performance based on track layout. Thusly, testing for simulation racing games would be extremely lengthy, and truthfully, what it would end up being is a Broughy tuning showcase, as everyone would need to tune their vehicles in the exact same way, and take the exact same lines, with the exact amount of traction loss during the laps to achieve similar results.

The wedge doesnt have Any armor. Choose the MOC cab. It has both explosive armor resistance and a Little bit of bullet resistanse... Just a tip buddy!

I thought that all of the trailers were in the Utility class (or a Trailers subclass of Utility)? That's according to the GTA Wiki anyway...
