hello all, i hope you're doing well. i have been taking my time editing this vlog because i'm currently on vacation in bali (!!!). i am here visiting my family for the week and am having the most wonderful time. a big portion of this vlog happened the week before i flew out, so there's still lots of mundane daily content like gardening, cooking, reading, and working :) the next vlog will have lots more to do with my bali trip, so do anticipate that hehe. i hope you all enjoy this short but sweet vlog 🤎

What were your thoughts/are your current thoughts on "Five Survive"? I read about half of it but my anxiety from the plot got too much to handle. Definitely a thriller that effected me more than I expected. I usually love the genre/style but I just couldn't continue.
i totally understand your feelings! i thought the story was very fast paced, but i was really expecting to like it as much as the author’s other series (Good Girl’s Guide to Murder). unfortunately that wasn’t the case, but i guess i couldn’t really expect much development when they’re just stuck in the RV 😅
anyway, there were definitely a handful of scenes that just made me super anxious and jumpy. i remember reading these scenes on the plane, and whenever my sister asked me a question, i’d quite literally flinch and snap at her 😅 i guess stressful books are still okay for my anxiety, but it gets really bad when i’m watching something! so i can understand. if you really wanted to continue with Five Survive, i highly recommend being in a room with lots of white noise (maybe in a cafe where you won’t really be bothered, but still have enough background chatter to ease your anxiety) ☺️ i hope this helps!

@@cupsandthoughts I remember reading Daphne Du Maurier's "Don't Look Now" and absolutely loved it (short story collection, would def recommend for spooky season) so Rebecca is right up my alley.
I already miss the fall despite enjoying winter, always sad to see my favorite time of year pass so quickly.
Been awhile since I read Night Circus, I'd love to reread it again.

I'm always so mesmerized and enchanted by your beautiful videos. Even your annotations are lovely to look at. I wish I had learned about them when I was much younger because I think I would have enjoyed it. I wonder though, why you don't annotate at the same time you read the book but go back and read it again to do the annotating. I think it may be too difficult to enjoy the book and annotate at the same time. I can't see myself reading a book a second time just to annotate it but I'm still very interested in annotation and what it is and how to do it. You mentioned doing a video on that in the future and I'm looking forward to that. Thank you for sharing such sweet moments.
oh thank you so very much! i’m glad you’re liking the videos 🥰 sometimes i don’t annotate while i read due to inconvenience :) for example, when i’m on the train it’s harder to pull out my annotating supplies, so i dog-ear the pages i want to annotate and go back to them when i’m on my desk! i don’t really read through them though, i skim through the pages and know what i want to annotate! thank you so much for the support 🤍🤍

One question, are you going to open your store again any time soon? I'm out of stickers from my last order and I also loves watching you pack orders. I understand though if you have a lot going on and that it's too stressful. It's not worth it if you're not feeling good about it of course.

aww thank you so much! 🥰 soto ayam is definitely comfort food 🫶🏼 so perfect for the colder weather! i normally highlight anything that makes me happy, sad, or frustrated 😆 honestly i go with my mood! whatever triggers me to annotate, i annotate :)

Hi Cath! I loved this vlog, especially the last part where you find your grandfather's calligraphies and art. I wonder what is your heritage? Japanese? Is that sumi-e? I hope this doesn't sound rude, I once saw an artist in my country, it was a Japanese culture celebration and he did some calligraphy and art while some musicians played taiko and koto, it was fascinating and so special.
