Rupert’s great fault was always that he was living in the past. He failed to realise that the future was the key to the new century. He fought all the time to maintain the era in which he had been born, and tried to crush everything that he did not properly understand. In Australia, for example, he fought hard to stop the Internet, even pressuring the Prime Minister, Malcom Turnbull, to prevent it. Thus Australia today has the worlds worst and most primitive Internet service.
Rupert Murdoch was 82 in this interview. On May 8, 2023, when I watch this, he is 92 and is still running the show in both companies. Since this interview, he has also married the much-coveted ex of Mick Jagger, Jerry Hall, who is 25 years his junior and divorced her after six years of a happy relationship. To snatch Jerry from the market is as much a great feat as building the huge empire. We must all admire Rupert Murdoch's achievements greatly, even though we may not agree with his political views.
I am disappointed in the Hoover Inst. for uploading this. Murdoch is not a man to be respected; Fox News is about anything but news. Please stick to serious economic debates.
Jefrey Archer's Book "The Fourth Estate" is a great read. Its "based" on both Murdoch and the Late Robert maxwell. Well worth a read. He's right about the welfare state, Especially her in the UK.
Fox is just as 'fair' and "balanced' as any of the other newschannels. The only difference is its common in popular culture (ranging from cartoons such as Family guy to the average left wing pundit) to radically attack Fox and Fox only. You simply follow the crowd. Keep it up, its inspiring.
I like it when CEOs & public figures can give direct answers instead of the standard diplomatic rants.
“Rupert Murdoch is the most dangerous immigrant ever to arrive on America’s shores!” John McCain’s presidential campaign manger Steve Schmidt

Rodney E Lever yet ironically some of the best hackers in the world.
So much for the "evil monster Rupert Murdoch" that's portrayed by the media. Give the guy a chance, and he shines like gold.

at least he hasn't lost the accent.
Only the good die young
Peter Robbinson comes off rather skeptical throughout this interview.
Murdoch deserves a top tier interviewer.
Forgive me for saying this, but these are both charming sophisticated men.
23:46 - Even in charity Murdoch looks at what is profitable.
Much maligned man. But, just a man running a business. Pretty cool interview.
Four adult children, not three.
I enjoyed this but too much Robinson, just a thought.
