A beginner plyometric and sprint program or combination (if it makes sense too) is something I'm interested in for sure. I've been doing some vertical jumps and broad jumps (haven't introduce sprint work yet), but to be honest I'm clueless in how to progress this overtime or even really properly implement this into my training.
Man I recorded the video 3 time as I wasn't happy with it, came back a 4th time for a very fine and fluid video with this slightly out of focus shot. I was too happy with the information so here we are 🤣
I'm working to improve my throwing for highland games. It's the offseason for me now, so I'm pushing more strength lifts, but still doing some sprinting. I throw twice per week, but that will go up to 3 or 4 sessions per week in the spring.
I did hill sprints for a while to assist my runs for cardio (I am a lousy runner) and I've never had such an increase in running performance as I did after doing only a few sessions of hill sprints.
I definitely struggle with concurrent conditioning and weight training. Would definitely be interested in programs or thoughts regarding this on your channel.
I want to be able to balance sprinting and the Olympic lifts. I’m primarily an weightlifter and I’ve finally gotten my technique to a place of consistency, but I miss the explosiveness of sprinting
I got a calf strain the other day when I went to sprint after a ball. Not being able to sprint all out when I want to is very humbling. A program to ease into/ prepare for sprinting would be nice. Something to run for 4 weeks like the bodyarmor program.
I began to add shorts sprints (like 15-20m) in my training, I like that but they make my right ankle pretty painful, and lately I feel also a pain in the middle of my left tibia. I guess I'll follow the cues after some rest, if it can help, because I like it but don't want to end with some pains each time. I'll probably struggle at the beginning with the % stuff, because I really don't understand how to dose that, but I hope I'll learn with time.
Shin splints are often a combination of loading and technique. Check out the technique your using, the surface your running and the programming your using.
Question? I've been playing rec league sports for the past 10 years. Lifting for 5, so im active. Would running at a very minor downhill grade increase the bodys ability to speed up? Translating to a fast flat ground sprint? Im thinking it may be similar to speed work on the big 3 lifts.
Most sprints in parkour occur within a sub 10 meter distance. Getting the most out of my acceleration phase is going to be my goal after my winter squat training
Would the flat session be alright to try fit in directly before actual sport practice if im already at the pitch? The adaptation should still happen right?
For the sprinting yes but for your sport it might too much work before hand. You also need to consider your per session load, so if you have one massive session per week that's too much it might throw off the rest of the week. So it depends on what the pitch session is like.
Is there an ideal day to sprint if you are focused on increasing your lifts (squat, snatch, clean) ?. For example should i sprint the day before or after squatting?
Ideally you would keep it as far from squatting as possible. So you don't impair your squatting or sprinting but initially the day after sprinting should be fine.
I sprint to the comment section of Sika's videos. If I fuck up my frequency is entirely on you lads
Max sprints every day. Smoke cigarettes in between reps.
Mind if I do a J?@@sikastrength

Noted, thanks for letting us know!
Those are some fine, in-focus shoes.

I’m just starting myself - this is super relevant
Best of luck and go slowly at the start!

Love this. I’ve incorporated sprinting into my training and my athletes’ training for about 4 months now
I needed this, thank you
Any advice for posterior ankle impingment injury while playing football
Thanks for making this. Superb video

They're really great!
How to back into sprinting and plyometrics after an ankle impingement injury or any injury thanks in advance....🙏
Sublime timing, was just about to try sprinting for the first time later today
Best of luck! Go slow (ironically).

Right timing

@@sikastrength I'm sure it was just too much too fast. Thanks for all the advices!
Agility/speed ladder training and landing from jumps.
Are they things you're trying to improve?
For the dosage on the hill sprints. Is it the same volume or whats the speed/reps they should be performed for the beginner phase?

Is the program on the compatible for racket sports?

Band resisted sprints would be a good idea. You could start them now if needed.
Where should i can buy this anta 1 white type of shoes?

Do you offer programming for someone who’s sole goal is to get faster?
We certainly do! Please send an email to sikastrength@gmail.com
