I bought a prothane axle bushing kit for my ford 8.8 axle. And it comes with 4 bushings the long one that goes inside and a short one. Where does the short round one goes? Does it goes on the other end of the metal sleeve? ?
Fernando Sierra Sorry for the late reply but yes it goes on the other side with the cone side facing towards the driveshaft. It will basically sandwich in between your mount and upper control arm.
Bryan Zamora If you’re wanting to use the poly bushings instead of rubber, you’ll have to source a good pair of the stock bushings then drill them out as as shown.
You could of pressed that out with the bench vice
Very helpful, thanks!
I wanna know if you are just replacing the bushing you don’t need to take out the bushing shell???
No you keep the she’ll but it is a pain to remove the bushing!

PJ Customs is that piece necessary?
UncleFuckah I couldn’t get the drivers side on, even when cutting it to slip on so left it off. I haven’t had any problems
PJ Customs I had to trim mine down they were to thick. Cut like about a half inch off of each spacer. I bet they aren’t even necessary
UncleFuckah I think its more for cushioning than anything else.
Ik this video old but what if the metal shells are damaged
