Oh yeah the deck is happening! You guys did a great job. Miss Daisy is just so flippin cute. I love how she fluffed up for the winter 😊 lovin those drone shots.
Im glad you got it done. Was wondering about it. I needed to see a good video. My husband found out he's got cancer. So i needed it bad and my baby Daisy.
You're gaining on it!! 😊 Coffee break with Ms Chrystal, Mr Reeve, and Ms Daisy! Nobody got hurt, nothing got broke and you didn't have to do goat heimlich, I'd say it's a good day!!
Right?! We seriously thought we would get it all done on the second day. But it took forever to screw all those screws in, probably because I had that old lady speed screw gun…ha! Be blessed Miss Bonney💕
Nice catch! Lol. Stay tuned for the next video and we will deal with the hangers. We already put lags in the header board, but it was already dark! Thanks for watching friend!
I REALLY thought you were going to get it on camera when he wiggled his way to the deck with all the boards! One quick angle shot looked like he was DOOMED and about to hit the house with the boards! But.... it turns out... he has mega skills AND a guardian angel!! ❤❤ Lookin good! Can't wait to see it get done completely! 👏👏👏👏👏
I'm not one to work in the cold but, this was fun working with you guys this time, lol. This supervising from home is a great gig, lol. I was wondering if you would have much of a problem with the boards being bowed but, you gotter done. C O O K I E S!
Hi John! Good to know you were supervising in spirit! Daisy was your representative on site but I’m not sure she did such a great job of keeping us on task! Ha!
I have been really enjoying your homestead and cooking videos.. I decided to find viodeos for homesteading alaska and came across yours.. I have been looking at wasilla and willow just because those towns are the right size for me.. Keep up the good work and God bless ya'll..
You might also check out modern homestead alaska channel. They have properties in both wasilla and willow. One is an off-grid cabin and one is a homestead they heat with wood and have on grid power. They are a great family and live a less rustic life. Might be good for research. 😊 youtube.com/@modernhomesteadalaska?si=JufVLsNA0PQ_1IES
Thanks friend. with summer being so short here we have to reserve groundwork, growing plants, and baby animals for the summer. So everything else has to get offloaded until winter. 😊
The problem is that we thought we were going to board and batten it then paint it last year…then this year, but then ran out of time before it got too cold. Ha! that’s why we haven’t put Tyvek on it yet. It’s on the list my friend. 😊
I'm thinking to myself now that would be really nice if it had a covered deck too. Been wanting to cover some of our deck especially where we come into the front door. We can't cover all of ours because it longer then a bowling ally and it would cost a lot of money. We have an L shaped deck. Even your dogs will love it.
We will cover it eventually, but definitely not this year. Our dogs are really silly. They are guardian dogs they won’t go inside any shelter. They have a giant hay bed inside the shelter logic, but won’t touch it unless it’s really really cold out -10F or so. They’d rather sleep in the driveway and watch for predators. They love the deck already even though it’s only halfway done. Ha! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna have to build them watchtowers to sleep in. Ha!
It is a watchtower for them. Mine always sleeps on the deck and it is facing our pasture and he uses it as his take off stripe. Not fun because he always take off barking and wakes me up all the time. @@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@@marlenereimchen9141 The girls bark all night long keeping the moose back in the evening, then the foxes all night. It’s like having new borns! Ha! Big furry ones!
Yep mine do too. Although, Drover our guy who lives with the livestock full time doesn't bark as much because nothing can get in the pens. We have page wire in all their areas. He sometimes sleeps in the goat barn with the goats. When they have little ones he sleeps outside the doorway making sure nothing gets in. @@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
There’s definitely a balance to having things workable in Alaska. Yes, ideally the batteries would stay warm and the charge will last significantly longer if it wasn’t so cold out. But we have to work outside, so we just know that in the cold the batteries aren’t gonna last as long. We always make sure we have lots of extra backup batteries Just part of running construction here. 😊
We don’t because they create moisture and your face freezes. Costco must be your favorite place to shop. Ha! It’s a 4 hour drive for us, so we don’t have a membership and don’t shop there. 😊
I would definitely issue Daisy a 1099 to recoup some of your investment there. You have clear evidence of her assistance on the job site. Take all the deductions you can with these tax brackets.
Beautiful dogs
Thanks! They are such hard workers. 😊
Great video Reese and Chrystal

Good luck building your deck
It turned out awesome!!
It's Daisy approved!!❤

Daisy is so cute, glad to see she getting out with you two while you are working, even though I am sure it creates more work for you
She does create an extra job of keeping Mr. Reeve on task, that’s for sure! Ha! Be blessed and stay warm!

Good job you two and of course Daisy is waiting till it finished so she can hang out in it, lol.

Get a Pony pipe clam and it would make it a lot easier.
This was a great video!!! Daisy did so much work. She was even holding the screw in her mouth for her daddy. Lol. Loved it!!!
