WIRE WRAPPING TUTORIAL - Caged Cabochon Heart Pendant

  • This is a wonderful wire wrapping technique, using only 2 wires and 2 stones to create a beautiful Caged Heart stone pendant. I enjoy creating on 'the fly' and so this DIY project is great for impulse creators! No measure and no plan, but a gorgeous piece of wire jewelry at the end of the project. I take you through the basic frame construction for this pendant, how to add spirals and hammered curves to your work and how to add additional wires to your jewelry work. I only used two wires here but you can always add more wire for more and more complexity and detail in your creation! Fun for all skill levels.

    What a wonderful video! I really appreciate your detailed visual and verbal explanations of using your fingers and tools to shape the wire in ways I haven’t seen others do as clearly. Very timely, as I’ve been trying to make some caged pendants that allow my stones to show off, and you managed to answer questions I didn’t know I had. Thank you!

    ABSOLUTELY love this tutorial ! We hear and see you when you work and it's really great! Love, love it! You're really a great teacher ;)) I love the way you work and explain. I've been doing wire wrapping for 4 years. Being self taught and quite a perfectionist, I found new techniques here and I like the way your pendant are made, a neat finish and well done what I really relate to. Thank you so much for this.

    I started working with wire wrapping jewelry almost a year ago, and being a perfectionist, I've only done about a handful of pieces that I thought were decent, AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM! I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I didn't hammer mine, only because it's about 4am and I just didn't want to get up and get what I needed to hammer mine, so mine has just one or 2 differences, but it came out really nice. I wish there was a way for us to share pictures of the pieces we make from your tutorials. Thank you so very much for sharing your creativity and talent here where those of us "newbies", can learn from a pro.

    Omg I really love this!!! 😍😍😍
    I am a slight crystal collector and have a few (many 🤭) crystal puffy hearts, but I also have a few flatter ones and a small pendant size malachite heart too..
    I love the "design on the fly" type of tutorials, where you have an idea of where you want to go, but it still works out way better in the end ❤️
    I'd love to know if you have a tutorial for point crystals at all? I have quite a few lemurian seed crystal points that I bought to wire wrap for family and close friends for Christmas last year and I am yet to find something that will capture the points but still keep the crystal as the focal and not so much the wire if that makes sense... I'm currently binge watching all your tutorials... 💐🙏❤️

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for this fun comment Jojo! I have a crystal wrap but it's for a larger crystal and uses quite a bit of wire. I have more crystal wraps planned for the future, so I'll keep it in mind to create something for the small delicate crystals too. Have fun on the tutorials and thank you so much for watching them! Please subscribe if you've not already, I have so much more coming!!

      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to file and sand the edges of my hammered metal, so it takes quite a bit of time, I am faster off camera, but you don't have to sand or file as much as I do. Thanks again for your comments!

    Love this one,also,did you make the bracelet your wearing, if so could you do a tutorial on it

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Marie! It took me a while to find where in the video you saw the bracelet, but I see it...it's the braided bracelet. I have an earring tutorial for this braid, but not a bracelet tutorial, but I will put it on the list for a future tutorial. You can modify the earrings by making the wire much longer (3 or 4 times) for a 5 inch bracelet. Here is the earring tutorial, maybe you can modify it before I can release a bracelet tutorial. ;) th-cam.com/video/cuwIh6RiAnw/w-d-xo.html

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Cecilia!! In this pattern, I use soft wires because they are larger gauge and hammered. The hammering work hardens the wires. You can also use half hard wires too, however. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy the tutorial!!

    I am having the hardest time finding heart shaped crystals that are gemstone. I cannot find beads or flat stones anywhere. Can you point me towards a dealer that carries these items? I am really frustrated at this point. Thank you for any help!

    • @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
      @PerfectlyTwistedJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for reaching out Tammy, there are several sellers in Etsy... StonesDirect is one I've used before, they are in TX and they sell heart shape stones. www.etsy.com/shop/stonesdirect
      You can also just search Etsy... type something vague like Heart Shape Stones... this should return a bunch of natural stone heart beads as well as tumbled and cabochon. ❤️. Don't be frustrated my dear, hearts are everywhere, we sometimes search using too many details. Less words in search equals more results. So rather than the words in detail like, small agate Gemstone Hearts, use the words Heart stones, Heartshape stone beads, cabochon hearts... not all together but you get it. Scan results, shop where you see a lot of reviews and obvious reputable businesses. ❤️
