- The City is part of Greater London, but is not one of the 32 London boroughs. The City is within the city, however, it is a city in itself. It has its own government and mayor.
The city is nicknamed the Square Mile because its area is 1.12 miles (2.9 km²). The boundary of the City of London is the Thames on one side and then, starting from the Tower of London in the east, extends to the Middle Temple on the Embankment.
Not only is the City home to iconic monuments such as St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge, it is also filled with a tangle of alleyways that are always rewarding to stroll through.

Una de las leyendas urbanas dicen que la Reina Isabel II y los monarcas británicos en general, tienen vetado el acceso ⛔en la City, que solo pueden con un permiso emitido por las autoridades del distrito. ¡Es solo una leyenda📜!! Sí que la familia real pide un permiso para entrar en la City. Pero es por cortesía. Supongo que así el Lord Mayor (el alcalde) tiene tiempo para organizar una ceremonia de bienvenida💃🕺. Los monarcas británicos pueden pasear o ir de compras libremente por la City de Londres.
En La City hubo otro gran incendio, en 1212. El fuego comenzó en la iglesia de St. Mary Overie, cerca de London Bridge. muy buen video
Londres ha ardido 🔥en muchas ocasiones- los primeros desastres documentados datan del año 675, el 989 y 1087. Antes del Gran incendio de Londres de 1066, la mayoría de los edificios eran de madera, por lo tanto, los incendios eran frecuentes😉.

Según el Ayuntamiento londinense, sí. La City se asienta sobre la antigua Londinium. En el patio de la misma Torre de Londres, aun se pueden ver restos de la muralla romana. Gracias por ver el video y compartir tu opinión 😀 😀
