  • What’s it like at a five star holiday resort in Bodrum, Turkey? I stayed at the all-inclusive Duja Bodrum for one week - here’s how it went!
    🇹🇷 See all of my TURKEY videos here → bit.ly/mwt_turkey
    The Duja Bodrum is one of many resort hotels in the Bodrum area and is situated just north of Bodrum itself. It’s spread across a rocky stretch of the Turkish Riviera looking out towards the Aegean Sea and a number of pretty islands.
    This video is not a review of the Duja Bodrum - instead I’m sharing what the hotel is like and what I found inside the resort. If you’d like to take a look around without actually being there then this vlog is for you.
    I stayed in a ground floor club room with easy pool access, air-conditioning and my own minibar - there’s also a main hotel block and lots of hillside buildings set out more like a small and pretty village than your average holiday resort.
    In the Vlog I’ll take a walk around the resort and give you a tour of all the important places you’d expect to find at a Turkish resort during a relaxing break away. This includes the swimming pools, restaurant, beach area, entertainment facilities, water slides and a tour of my room.
    Whilst I’m specifically touring the Duja Bodrum in this Vlog my intention is to show you what it’s like inside a typical resort during a summer holiday in Turkey.

    Loved the drone footage and the POV together - gives a great idea about the total feel of the area and the different perspectives are equally beautiful. That waterslide looked like a lot of fun too!

    High Roller Matt Whiting! Really nice resort. We have only been to an all inclusive in Cancun Mexico. We were in Turkey for a bit but never to Bodrum. Incredible drone shots. Definitely took notes on your transitions haha. We've never been to the UK but imagine the weather was MUCH better than it was back home. That hammock had your name all over it!

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I remember your Turkey videos, I think the closest you got to Bodrum was Ancient Ephesus unless I'm mistaken. Always good to get the drone up in the air! Yes generally it's a lot warmer in Turkey than in the UK, however whilst there was a heatwave in the UK during my trip and so the temperatures for a few days at least were similar. Difference is that hardly anywhere in the UK has air conditioning so when it's hot there's not much you can do except take a cold shower! The hammock was bliss 😂

      @@MattWhitingsEurope didn't know there was a lack of AC in the UK! That doesn't sound fun. Yea, the closest we got was Bodrum. Glad you enjoyed the hammock! 😄😁

      Some hotels have it but practically no private homes and few businesses. It really doesn't get hot enough during most of the year. Central heating on the other hand...

  • @WhenAdventureKnox
    @WhenAdventureKnox ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, that hotel was crazy huge!!! You're like me that I never switch a TV on when I'm away on holiday, but it's nice to have it in case you fancy it! I imagine this was probably not an issue in such a fancy hotel like this, but I remember as a kid going to Bulgaria and we were in a ground floor hotel room that faced onto a public beach. One night when we hung our swimmers and towels out to dry, they were stolen, so ever since then, I've always requested a higher floor room, but watching you walk straight out of your room onto the poolside is making me feel like I need to change my attitude! Never been to Bodrum. I did a couple of family package holidays in Turkey as a teen and 11 years ago, did a bit of backpacking around one summer. I was so broke then and even with Turkey's cheap prices, it was a stretch - I'd love to go back and do things a little more properly! Really felt for you with all the music being played - it's really frustrating when that happens as we as creators never even want the music present in our videos 🤦‍♀ Am curious to see if you go off exploring around Turkey or if this was a one off video!

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'm a bit torn between high and low rooms, I guess there are advantages to both. Sometimes a good view is all you need! Bad luck with your belongings getting swiped from outside your room, I can see why that would put you off. The Turkish Lira is struggling at the moment so it's a great place to head on a budget, got a feeling there will be loads of deals after the peak summer season has finished! The music thing is definitely something you've got to take into account when making these videos, I've got a few old ones that have had problems because of the background music.

    Hi Matt, you did such a great job with this video. The drone footage in the beginning definitely compliments it, it wouldn't be the same without the drone footage. This place should pay you for this comprehensive, honest yet enticing video. I was never a fan of all inclusive resorts like this but, gosh you made it look really tempting to go. I would definitely go there now if I could afford it. Was the price for the week? Also is it really hot at this time of the year?

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Olga, glad you enjoyed the video! I got all the drone footage from two early (ish) morning flights - really pleased you like the end result! The price was per room based on two people sharing, I looked it up two weeks before so it was for a fairly late booking - and you usually pay more for booking late! Booking early would definitely bring the price down. Temperature was about 33-34 most days, that's about average for the Bodrum area in August. If the hotel wants to give me a refund they are more than welcome! 😂

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, glad you found it useful. I didn't really sit out by the main pool very much as the room I was staying in had it's own little pool that belonged to the block. It did always seem busy when I walked past though so you might need to get out there with your towels to get a good spot. Early bird catches the worm and all that! Shame, I hate sunbed wars too! I think every hotel should removal towels and personal belongings after one hour of inactivity. I see too many people who get a great spot only to head for the beach for half a day. Pretty frustrating!! I hope you have a great time - it's an amazing hotel for sure.

      Yes I should have gone into a bit more detail with the prices, I cost was quite high because of how late I was looking at the prices. I got a better deal than that and it included flights and transfer to the hotel, however I booked about 6 months before when COVID was looking like it could continue to affect travel in Europe.

    • @KATHYSLUITER

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome. Yes I saw lots of children there when I stayed, both younger and older. It was August so right in the middle of the school holidays. Getting around with a stroller may be a bit tough as the little lanes are not ideal for wheelchairs/strollers etc, however there are lots of little golf carts passing by and they're always happy to offer a lift. If you're staying in the main hotel it won't be a problem as everything except for the water slides are connected to it. In terms of getting to the beach, there is a lift that takes you between beach and pool levels although it can be a bit busy at times. Hope that helps.

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting. Thinking back, I only had a problem with wasps in one specific location on one evening. It was outside at the Italian restaurant, they were a real pain but the waiters lit a candle to deter them. It worked but the problem them became the amount of smoke!

    • @adamsolkar
      @adamsolkar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MattWhitingsEurope Yes, they turned up whenever we had food outdoors, by the beach mainly, and also at the Anatolian restaurant. They seemed to disappear after sunset though. I didn't mind as much, but the kids were having none of it! I guess there is not a lot the hotel can do about it.

    2,000 euros for *one* week? I can live in Italy for 2 *months* on that, all inclusive. I can see the appeal though! 😉

    • @MattWhitingsEurope
      @MattWhitingsEurope  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha you've got a point. The price is based on two people sharing so it's 1,000 Euros a head. It was also a last minute price so if you book earlier you can probably get a better deal! 2 months in Italy also sounds very tempting! 😂
