  • Hello everyone! As you probably know, I have moved to France and vlogged my experience travelling during the pandemic. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty stressful leaving Australia and getting the exemption and I didn't feel good until I actually left Zurich airport and crossed the border to France. I hope you enjoy the video and if you're travelling during covid remember to stay safe and have all your documents ready! I didn't need a covid test to enter France but I know with other countries it's a requirement. I arrived Christmas Eve, just in time to celebrate!
    Relocating to a new country isn't easy, especially during a pandemic (my flights got cancelled twice before this one). Thanks for watching! :)

    Wait you didn't need a covid test? I've read you need one, so that isn't true. Also what exemption did you give?

    • @BonnieVoyage
      @BonnieVoyage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends what country you’re entering, so best to check some offical sites. I just got the exemption for stating I won’t be coming back before three months and they gave it straight away :)

      Also I actually landed in Switzerland but nothing was mentioned about yes for them either. Things may have changed not sure my flight was on the 24th December :)

      @@BonnieVoyage Thanks for your reply, could you go into more detail? So you said you won't be leaving after 3 months (the normal visa time) because I assume you will be applying for residency. Did you tell them your future plans, I would appreciate if you could let me know specifically what you told them. Also did you need one of the exemptions forms or was it enough to tell them verbally?
      Thanks again :)

      @@zonnovate8809 hey, sure I will give you more info! Yes I am on a long stay visa and will eventually apply for residency but I’ll had to be living here for years before. With the exception, I went online (search Australian exception application) and filled their online form which I believe need to be done 3 weeks before you leave but no later than 3 months before (this may have changed though so pls check!). This form just has a message and you can upload supporting documents. In my message I sent something along the lines of “I am moving to France for at least the next few years and will not be returning in the next three months...” etc. Just hammer in the fact that you’re permanently moving so that they believe you. I’m sure you could return if you change your mind in the three months but you’d need to pay for quarantine hotel I assume and also I chatted to an Australian over here and his flight got cancelled to go home a week ago (he was with qatar who I flew to France with as they’re the only reliable airline right now to leave Australia) so it may be hard to even get home but 100% use qatar if you’re leaving Australia as all the other airlines just cancel if they don’t get enough people. For my supporting documents I had scanned pics of my long stay visa for France, passport, proof of accommodation when I arrive (a letter signed by my boyfriends parents lol), a scan of my 1 year travel insurance I bought, a pics of my flight details, and just the general documents like birth certificate, etc. They just emailed me that my application was ‘exempt’ and that was that. Didn’t need to print anything as they used my passport number to check when I was at the airport. Let me know if you have anymore questions and I’d be happy to answer 😊 thanks for subbing ❤️
