Pure Romcoms / Romantic Dramas are so rare these days compared to years past. I know there's a lot of mixed opinions on them -- Many people got sick of the fairy tale and want realism which means not-so-happy-endings -- But it's nice to see the genre is still alive even if it's a very, very niche genre, now. There's room for fantasy and realism because that's what falling in love is like.
In a sense you are 80% right, but it’s because people got tired of them, limit annoyed of it cause from the 80’s till the year 2015-2016 we only got them non stop, the only unique movies we had were either big disney blockbusters, Scorsese, Nolan, Anderson, etc, etc…. So yeah people wanted more realism but ngl as they rom con started to go extinct it’s so good to have some time to time
They're very common in other countries still if you're willing to give them a try and turn on the English subtitles. So very sweet, some very funny, even corny but enjoyable!
@@ohitsmaiii well I’m from France, tbh nothing beats US, Mexican, Canadian and UK rom com lmao…obviously and my parents are ethnically Sri Lankan I’m kinda use to Kollywood Tamil rom come and Bollywood so meh
This romance comedy reminds me of my parents. They actually met on a flight as well. My dad was headed to Thailand on vacation and my mom back home to Taiwan. It’s ironic how they met on a plane, how I was born and had to get transported by plane to another hospital due to breathing troubles and now I’m beginning my journey to becoming an airline pilot. Edit and Update: Oh my goodness! I had no idea this comment blew up lol. But yeah I got my Private Pilot’s License and now working on Instrument. Also, looking into some airlines. Potentially Skywest first before airlines such as Hawaiian, JAL, EVA Air, Korean Air, or even Starlux.
I loved this movie so much. I was deeply invested the entire time, I couldn't help but smile to myself while watching the interactions between Hadley and Oliver. Watching them fall in love is everything I dreamed of, and felt so real and nature. the chemistry between the actors was literally a 10/10, I need them to do another project together like yesterday. I cried, laughed, blushed, and cried some more. Both characters were very relatable with their complicated relationships with their parents. I could watch this movie over and over again. I LOVED EVERY SCEOND OF THIS MOVIE!!
I am totally with you! Especally what you said about the chemistry between the actors. It felt so real and authentic. My phone wasn't in my hand for the entire movie. That's sadly not normal (shame on me) but here i watched only the movie. Worth it!
Sorry, could you tell why you wrote "I need them to do another project together like *yesterday*"? I'm not a native so I'm kinda confused why it was "yesterday" here😅 Apart from that, yeah, the movie seems so simple yet really warm and soulful!
Oh my god... I was twelve years old when I read this book in 7th grade. It was on display at our school book fair and I had to BEG my classmate to buy it for herself so she could loan it to me to read. It was the first book I ever read in a single sitting, and I remember laughing, crying, blushing, and experiencing every heartbreak and reconciliation through Hadley's eyes. And by the end of it all, I was so fundamentally changed, and since then, I've always dreamed about experiencing the magic between Hadley and Oliver for myself (especially at airports 🤭). I cannot believe it's taken 10 years to adapt this into a film, but I'm so beyond excited for this! And with Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy at the helm 😭 this is going to be such a treat 🥳
This reminds me of when three years ago, I was on a flight home for Christmas and I started to feel really anxious and sick, so the flight attendant suggested I go sit in the back by the restrooms. While standing there at some point I noticed this cute guy that seemed to be having a panic attack. So I asked him if he was ok and he told me about his fear of flying. He was really afraid we were gonna crash and I told him that even if we were to crash we would never feel any pain because we would die on impact. He started laughing and we ended up talking for over 4 hours. For 4 hours we just stood there and talked about everything. At some point I started to feel overwhelmed again, so he took my hand and suggested that we arm wrestle. I realized he was doing this to distract me, and it worked. I ended up feeling better and to this day I knew it was fate that brought us there. It’s like the Universe/God knew what we needed at the time. You know when you meet someone and it’s like there’s this instant click or connection and even though you know this is a stranger, you can’t help feel like you’ve known them your whole life? Well this was that. The sad part of this story is that we never got to exchange any contact information because we were asked to return to our seats. I hoped to see him after the flight but I never ended up seeing him again. All I know is that his name is Luca, he’s Italian, born in Switzerland somewhere near Geneva, works at McDonalds and has dreams of becoming a chef. So Luca, if you ever see this, thank you and I hope someday we meet again.
Found during random browsing. Started watching for timepass and got glued within 5 minutes of beginning. The way the narrator took us on such a beautiful roller coaster of emotions is speechless. I literally prayed during movie time for their meeting and cried at the end happily. A must watch movie.

A pessimist until the right person came along (like me), watching this will definitely cry with this one. I could feel Oliver's pain so much, I've been in pain my whole life, from my parents divorcing, all the hatred and fighting, all relationships going to hell, seeing my mother get sick and depressed, my own self harm. And then life changed. I'm getting to experience love, accepting myself, softness, pure happiness, devotion and passion. This movie is brilliant, real and I wish everyone can experience pure love and all its complications.
I remembered reading this back in the day when I just got out of a very long, toxic relationship and thinking that this type of love never really happens. I was jaded, I know. But I was also in my early 20s and didn't know a single thing about love. Ten years later, I found myself in an extremely healthy relationship with my own loving British man and we met in a situation that's similar to this one. It's weird when fiction meets reality, but it's always nice to know that love can take on plenty of forms. I can't wait to watch this when it comes out!
I literally had an experience like this 5 days ago, I met this beautiful girl at my local restaurant & we locked in for like 5 seconds, we were both smiling. I was overwhelmed because it was so intense. I can tell she didn’t know what to say & neither did I… we had a small talk but I didn’t ask her out because I was fluttered AF. The feeling was unmatched!! I look forward to seeing her again next week so I can redeem myself haha
I met this girl going from Lisbon to Vienna on December 20th 2023 she was going to Germany we were both on ryanair we talked a little as she needed a card to pay her check in as she only had cash so I lent her my card. We both had to leave to board our flight thinking I’d never see her again than I saw her as we both were about to board separate planes but we were separated by a gate but she saw me and waved and a smiled I still wish I asked her for her number or even her name I still remember her smile. I don’t know if I’ll ever find her again but this movie reminded me of it
So, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight was my first official contemporary romance book, in 8th grade. Out of college now, and I still love it. Can't wait to see the movie! It looks promising and cute! I hope the funny discussions of what Oliver is or isn't studying stay in for the whole thing.
Just watched it with my grandma and we both absolutely loved it. The chemistry between the main is *chef’s kiss*!😍 Cute and heartwarming love story which leaves you with fuzzy feelings inside when the credits roll. Sometimes that’s all we need from a romcom 😌

I watched this when it first came out and did a rewatch today, almost a year later. It is truly one of the most profound rom-coms I’ve had the chance to see. I watched it for the romance part but got so much more. It is endearing, poignant, tender and very human. ❤
In today's age, it is really hard to grab one's attention with a simple old-school romance, without any twists and turns. The fact that this trailer got me so interested in itself is a feat. Maybe it's also the actors' charm.
I sat next to my husband the first day of EMT class and knew he was the one. It’s funny because before I met him I NEVER would have said love at first sight is real. But here we are 5 years later and I think I love him more and more everyday. I think it’s why I love this movie so much!! The way they look at each other reminds me 1000% of the way my husband and I looked at each other
just watched this movie with my mom, and i have to say- definitely made it to my favorites list (which is rare, because i'm super picky with movies lol). just- really entertaining overall. the writing and romance drags you in lol. not to mention the absolutely GORGEOUS visuals, from the costumes to the sets, and how everything is so colorful and sets a mood so easily. felt like i was watching a piece of art the whole time. amazing movie
@@Engleberta sure! in no particular order: pride and prejudice (2005), the batman, anastasia (1997 animation), ford v ferrari, cars, and uhhhhhh ferris beuller's day off makes it into the mix as well. not sure if that's just a random hodgepodge of movies, or if it's actually judgable as to whether i have good movie taste lol
THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT- my favorite book since I was in like 6th grade, no romance novel has hit me the same way (23 now😭). I’ve been waiting on this forever😭😭😭
This movie looks so good, and so cute! I love how it's British because my mom is British as well! Aw, maybe we'll watch it together! That would be so cute!
I need more light heartedness when it comes to romance films these days. Don't get me wrong realistic endings are good but sometimes you just want to see characters get together bright and happy. Hope this will be one and could be a fun watch!
So many love stories these days are about long term relationships and the struggles they bring and while those can be excellent its rare we get a movie solely about New Love That giddy feeling when you first meet someone who you vibe with immediately and that connection that just keeps growing the more time you spend together.
I can’t wait for this to come out just pure romcoms/ romantic dramas about instantly true love and not something ridiculous. But can’t wait to see this. This is going to be so good and cute.😊
I had a little story on a plane in 2018 too, I’m from Spain, Barcelona and he was from London, I was so scared on that flight and I didn’t know what to do to feel better, all of a sudden I felt his eyes straight on my neck, I turn around and in between the two seats there was this handsome and young blond London guy with the sweetest smile and heart ever 😍, we start talking and I instantly started to feel better, we laughted forgetting our fear of flying, he told me “ don’t say you’re scared cause I’m scared too” lol, he was so sweet and we laughed the whole London to Barcelona flight, specially when I thumbs up 👍🏻 every time I check everything was ok with the plane 😅, after landing we were with our families and we looked at each other in the distance smiling and 👍🏻 but had no chance to ask for the phones 🤦🏻♀️, I wish I could say hi again to him and see that beautiful and unforgettable smile
Read the book ages ago and I finished the movie just now. Aaah that was so good. Shed a few tears but also got me kicking at my feet and giggling. I didn't know how badly I needed this kind of movie--light hearted but it does give you something to ponder upon. They cute.
I woke up at 3am to watch it and after I went to the gym(so I have a mood to do workouts since I’ve been waiting for this movie for a month). It was magnificent, the ending just made me feel happy for them, what a kind and lovely movie 💖 A little different than a book and it ended the way fast than I expected, but I loved it and loved every single time they looked at each and had a chemistry so on and so forth 😍 on top of my favorite movies and the book as well 💯
I give the producers and directors credit. This doesn't look like the cliche typical love story. It's different. I like this. I can't wait to watch it!
I read this book for the first time in 2013 and since then I dreamt of seeing a movie adaptation. I realised only half-way through the trailer this was it! I can't believe no one made this movie before and I can't believe it's here now!
Literally the first 49 seconds (right up until that look she gives, but just short of the hands) happened to me last year on a severely delayed flight from Toronto to San Francisco. Probably one of the most unexpectedly honest, fun connections ever, and I still mentally punch myself every now and then for not getting her contact info. (It was late, I wasn't thinking straight, and I was preoccupied with what was going to happen to me seeing as my next flight had been disconnected.😕)
This happened to me in real life. I met my first boyfriend on a plane we sat next to each other and talked the whole way through. Then we stayed in touch and met up in real life a couple of months later. After about half a year of talking we became a couple. He was my first and only love so far.
Just the kind of movie I like just to think of something else than my day to day life waiting for the next vacation. Some people need this kind of entertainment, light, uncomplicated.
This was such an amazing movie! I was in love with both the simplicity and the overall realism of this film. Also, I’m super happy that broken phone didn’t keep them apart all too long, nor did it have the time to cause any miss communications we see so many times in other films. 😂
WE NEED MORE ROMCOMS/ROMANCE GENRE IN FILM TO COME BACK!!! I WILL DEFINITELY BE SEATED FOR THIS ONE. I HOPE IT'S GOOD. GLAD TO SEE HALEY LU RICHARDSON ON SCREEN!!! HER IN THE WHITE LOTUS S2 WAS SO FUN.
Ohh definitely watching this😂 as me and my husband met on the plane, he lost his passport and rescheduled his flight that’s how he happened to be on my flight, we sat next to one another, talked non stop, fell in love and did 1.5 years long distance before getting married. 7 years in and still going strong ❤
Loved the movie cute and heartwarming..❤ love at first sight does happen, the instant attraction and feeling of chemistry and connection is an amazing feeling! The movie shows 2 relatively, healthy emotionally secure young adults with healthy, nurturing parental figures.. giving support and gentle encouragement when needed. That's the magic formula to lasting love. Unfortunately, in reality people have attachment issues/unresolved trauma due to an unhealthy/dysfunctional/toxic upbringing and even though love at first sight can happen the relationship doesn't survive or overcome the difficulties, unless both people are willing to be honest and vulnerable with each other. I love how they portrayed that aspect in the movie gave it a bit more depth IMO.
A good conversation is one that can relieve others' emotional stress, not one where you consider yourself funny. It's something that you can genuinely feel and understand.
I am so lucky. I have very good long term memory, but very poor short time memory. I remember movies from a long time ago quite well, but ones like this I can love like new every month. I kind of won the memory lottery! Wonderful movie and incredible chemistry. I demand a sequel that I can forget frequently!!
Ok the people love these two and putting them in a movie together is genius!! I’m sick of good potential rom coms but one of them is a bad actor/actress and it ruins the whole thing. This is not that! SO EXCITED!!
I haven't seen that many english rom movies but I did watch so many korean dramas. When I watched this trailer it remind me of korean rom com dramas and movies😅
I love love love this movie❤ My fav one for sure❤❤❤ This has me sobbi so many times I don't know why. The movie is just so relatable and beautiful and emotional ❤
This looks like the kind of film I pretend to hate and roll my eyes at, but by the end I’m completely invested and crying like a baby😂
this is so me. I am gonna pretend to hate it but my hopeless romantic little heart will be bawling her eyes out at the end.
This made me laugh, so, thank you
No because I did this with purple hearts

Congrats to Fly By Midnight for their song getting into a trailer, so proud of them
I watched this when it first came out and did a rewatch today, almost a year later.
The way they look at each other reminds me 1000% of the way my husband and I looked at each other
Where can I download aside Netflix please
@@dandelight1557 no where. It’s a Netflix original so only available on Netflix
your story must be nice
just watched this movie with my mom, and i have to say- definitely made it to my favorites list (which is rare, because i'm super picky with movies lol). just- really entertaining overall. the writing and romance drags you in lol. not to mention the absolutely GORGEOUS visuals, from the costumes to the sets, and how everything is so colorful and sets a mood so easily. felt like i was watching a piece of art the whole time. amazing movie
Please kindly tell us your other favourite movies. Thanks
This is the exact fantasy I imagine for myself when I'm in the airport
breaking your phone?
THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT- my favorite book since I was in like 6th grade, no romance novel has hit me the same way (23 now😭). I’ve been waiting on this forever😭😭😭
This movie looks so good, and so cute! I love how it's British because my mom is British as well! Aw, maybe we'll watch it together! That would be so cute!
i just read this in a brittish accent and i laughed, sorry.
@@Victor-vt2ogit's ok. It's funny.
I need more light heartedness when it comes to romance films these days. Don't get me wrong realistic endings are good but sometimes you just want to see characters get together bright and happy. Hope this will be one and could be a fun watch!
The memorial scene was so touching.
massive missed opportunity to call this "love at first flight"
I miss this kind of movies. Life has been sad lately we all need this cliche but romantic comedy movie 😍
So many love stories these days are about long term relationships and the struggles they bring and while those can be excellent its rare we get a movie solely about New Love
That giddy feeling when you first meet someone who you vibe with immediately and that connection that just keeps growing the more time you spend together.
I can’t wait for this to come out just pure romcoms/ romantic dramas about instantly true love and not something ridiculous. But can’t wait to see this. This is going to be so good and cute.😊
What is your Instagram id?
Honestly one of the best rom comes I've ever watched, had you sitting on the edge of your seat, I cried 3 times.
FINALLY a trailer that doesn't spoil the ending but makes me WANNA WATCH
I LOVE this book. ❤️
Netflix, do NOT screw this up!!!
Did they?
Nope, it's very good, try it
they didnt@@sajamar9923
Read the book ages ago and I finished the movie just now. Aaah that was so good. Shed a few tears but also got me kicking at my feet and giggling. I didn't know how badly I needed this kind of movie--light hearted but it does give you something to ponder upon. They cute.
"Infinitely Falling" by Fly By Midnight was an excellent song choice! I love their music! 💖
I woke up at 3am to watch it and after I went to the gym(so I have a mood to do workouts since I’ve been waiting for this movie for a month). It was magnificent, the ending just made me feel happy for them, what a kind and lovely movie 💖 A little different than a book and it ended the way fast than I expected, but I loved it and loved every single time they looked at each and had a chemistry so on and so forth 😍 on top of my favorite movies and the book as well 💯
i was only in my teens when i read the book and now it’s getting an adaptation and i’m 22 this is pure joy to me
Book name?
@@m.2891the statistical probability of love at first sight
the feeling of meeting someone but not knowing if you will meet again is so nostalgic.
I give the producers and directors credit. This doesn't look like the cliche typical love story. It's different. I like this. I can't wait to watch it!
this is actually from a book: statistical probability of love at first sight by jennifer smith
This literally looks like a poor man's version of Serendipity
In the movie they are 20 and 22 years old, in real life they are 28 and 32
but it's amazing how they fit into the movie together bravooo
These movies makes me believe in love, love at first sight, soulmates, True Love and made for each other etc❤
Hadley and Oliver begin falling in love on a flight from New York to London, but they lose each other at customs
I read this book for the first time in 2013 and since then I dreamt of seeing a movie adaptation. I realised only half-way through the trailer this was it! I can't believe no one made this movie before and I can't believe it's here now!
Finally!!! Another love story for feeling miserable again, cuz thats never going to happen to me! Totally love it!
Best modern romantic/comedy I’ve seen in a while! Simple, classic, pure and genuine.
“Is it better to have had a good thing and lost it or never to have had it?”
So glad that Fly by Midnight got a big spotlight for once! ❤🎉
Stumbled upon this movie randomly. It was amazing.
I was surprised because it’s a really nice romantic movie. I haven't seen anything like this for a long time
This movie is good quality romcom I haven’t seen in years. It’s caught me off guard
The missed opportunity to call this ‘Love at First Flight’😊
"Is it better to have had a good thing and lost it or never to have had it?"
12 year old me is screaming, I loved this book so much!
ME TOO!!😭🤣
Watched it today and I LOVED it!! great job Netflix
I loved this movie, I'm feeling pretty hopeless at 33 but always on flights lately so it got me in dreamland at least again.
A good conversation is one that can relieve others' emotional stress, not one where you consider yourself funny. It's something that you can genuinely feel and understand.
That looks delightful, that's a trailer I have to make sure my wife doesn't see so I can surprise her with a movie she might like.
I was all in watching this movie but when it 1:07 showed the studio that brought the purple hearts , am all in for this movie ❤❤
Honestly this looks great. Love the cast and the trailer isn't telling too much. I miss rom coms like this.
Can't believe this book is finally being made into a movie!!!!!!
I will never get over the fact that this movie isn't titled 'Love at First Flight' .....
I'm such a sucker for rom-coms man😭.Definitely gonna read the book now to experience the love story of these two in more detail!!Such a great movie
Un film

qu'on voudrait vraiment
y rester !!!
0:08 RIP Lightning Cable :(
I am so lucky. I have very good long term memory, but very poor short time memory. I remember movies from a long time ago quite well, but ones like this I can love like new every month. I kind of won the memory lottery! Wonderful movie and incredible chemistry. I demand a sequel that I can forget frequently!!
If I post the same message a month from now, please forgive me 🙃
Lol I'm like that too
She is such a good actor. Five Feet Apart is beyond amazing and I think this will be too.
I love a good romantic film,definitely watching ❤
I fell in love at first sight with this movie. And the cast! ❤
What a Great Movie Wow. ❤ from Beggining to End... so well thought out. ❤❤❤
The trailer doesn't do justice to the movie - it was wonderful! Worth watching.
Ok the people love these two and putting them in a movie together is genius!! I’m sick of good potential rom coms but one of them is a bad actor/actress and it ruins the whole thing. This is not that! SO EXCITED!!
I just like the part where Oliver said Hadley's dangerous, because he's being too honest with her
And the living memorial, loved it
This movie is soooooo goodddd
I’m so looking forward to this romcom. I need movies like this in my life.
Clicked on it at random and couldn't stop watching! Such an adorable, brilliant movie! Great acting and storyline!
I read this book in 2013. I badly wanted this to be made as a movie. And now, I'm freaking 32.. I guess it's never too late!
I haven't seen that many english rom movies but I did watch so many korean dramas. When I watched this trailer it remind me of korean rom com dramas and movies😅
why am I crying because of a trailer
I’m not crying your crying
I love love love this movie❤ My fav one for sure❤❤❤ This has me sobbi so many times I don't know why. The movie is just so relatable and beautiful and emotional ❤
One of the best romantic feel good moves ever.....
