    I have a pierogi casserole on my meal plan for next week because I have never had a pierogi before. The recipe I'm doing uses smoked sausage.
    The manicotti looked so good! I haven't made manicotti in forever.

    Add a little bit of cornstarch to your shredded cheese before vacuum sealing to keep it from clumping up. Works for me!

    Such great meals, adding to next weeks meal prep. I freeze a lot of cheese. One thing I do after shtrdding cheese is pit on parchment lined cookie sheet, spread out, dont overlap and freeze, then when frozen I pop in freezer bag. Keeps cheese from clumping, and for recipes cooked in oven, i can take out what I need and zip up bag pop back in freezer. Always stays separated and dont have to thaw before use as each shredded piece separated. Hope that helps. Thanks for your recipes.

    Girl I love the Cajun flavor smoked sausage. We used it. All the time and is the only one I get. It gives the dish a lot of flavor without adding much seasons. My husband is a chef and he loves it. It does get spicy the more you eat of it, towards the end of eating a serving.

    So we love mushrooms in this house but that was genius straining them out so you could still benefit using the soup. In regards to the the shredded cheese issue and the food saver, maybe you can sprinkle a little cornstarch over the cheese and mix it up before freezing it. Just a thought. Love the videos. Everything looks so good! I never liked mushrooms or peppers of any kind when I was younger and still living at home. I love mushrooms , can't get enough of them. Peppers on the other hand still can't stand the taste or the smell of them. Good to see someone else not boiling their noodles first. You can do that with lasagna noodles also, just get regular lasagna noodles don't get the sheets its cheaper to get the regular ones. The sauce will cook them just like you said. Cuts time in half! I agree with someone else you should do a cookbook. Have a good week/weekend. 🦋
    I had a vacuum sealer at one time. It walked off with a roommate that I had at the time. I liked it for most things. I usually get the pre shredded cheese so I didn't know it did that. Thanks for the pointer.

    If you really want to freeze home shredded cheese you can first lay the cheese out on a cookie sheet in the freezer. After its frozen that way you can seal it in a bag and freeze it all together it wont all stick together. But honestly it's easier to just freeze it whole and shred it after thawing. Also that pierogi casserole immediately went onto my meal plan for next week! Haha

  • @teresadean1995
    @teresadean1995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Next time you want to go to vacuum seal your shredded cheese, before you put it in a bag, coat it with corn starch, make sure you coat it good and do not take all the air out, just most of it. Your sealer should have a stop option while vacuuming. That way your cheese will not form into a solid mass again. But really, that dish looked so good.
