  • Hydro-pneumatic accumulators are pressure vessels designed and built to store fluids under pressure. They are charged with nitrogen which is separated from the fluid section by a piston, bladder or diaphragm. HYDAC has over 50 years of experience in the research, development, design and production of the accumulators.
    The principle applications of accumulators are: energy storage, emergency and safety functions, damping and the reduction of vibrations, pulsation damping, shock absorption, suction flow stabilisation, media separation, energy recovery, volume and leakage compensation and also weight equalization.
    Using an accumulator improves the performance of the whole hydraulic system, and can give great safety and comfort for operators of machines.
    It is important to know that Hydraulic Accumulators present an acute safety risk to personnel and equipment if not correctly engineered, applied or maintained.
    Quality, safety and reliability are paramount for all HYDAC accumulator components. They comply with the current regulations (or standards) for pressure vessels in the individual countries of installation.
    In taking delivery of a HYDAC hydraulic accumulator therefore, the customer is assured of a high quality accumulator product which can be used in every country in the world, depending on the certification.
    HYDAC provides technical training courses in a variety of topics, and among them is the "Understanding Accumulators". This is a three-day course which is designed as a detailed examination of accumulators. We examine all aspects of accumulator construction, sizing and operation within a system.
    In the "Understanding Accumulators" course, you will learn all of that and much more. We will cover the following topics: general introduction to accumulators, thermodynamics and calculations, pre-charge and test procedures, certification and approvals, legal requirements, Accumulator Simulation Software ASP, and the third day of the course is Hands-on, where bladder accumulators will be inspected, assembled, pre-charged and dis-assembled by you.
    At the completion of the course, a certificate of acknowledgement will be issued to the participant, stating the course name and all other relevant details.
    The purpose of this video is to give you some guidance of how to assemble a hydro-pneumatic accumulator. Note that only people with special technical training should assemble pressurised hydro-pneumatic accumulators. Assembling correctly will give you years of trouble free operation.
    Thank you

    Very nice i want to ask you something about making hydraulic test to have certificat because it's a pression équipement, i thing there are a tools to make it, if you have a data sheet for that or drawing please give it to me i work for a company in ammonia storage and we have a vertical pumps with mechanical seal and acumulator
    Thanks for help

    Interesting, So the 'Fluid port assembly' is held in place by the rubber 'Anti extrusion ring' even at 100's of bar ? I would have thought it would have pushed it's way through ...

    • @HydacAu
      @HydacAu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The anti-extrusion ring has a steel split ring sub-component which is not clearly seen in this video. If you can pause the video at one minute 31 seconds, you may be able to spot it. In the model accumulator as shown, it is in fact rated to 400 bar!

    What are the methods of mounting these accumulators horizontally?

    • @HydacAu
      @HydacAu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Margi,
      To answer your question, our HYDAC bladder accumulators can be installed vertically, horizontally and at a slant. Note that when installing vertically or at a slant, the oil valve must be at the bottom.
      There are some specifications: on certain applications listed below, particular positions are preferable:
      - Energy storage: vertical,
      - Pulsation damping: any position from horizontal to vertical,
      - Maintaining constant pressure: any position from horizontal to vertical,
      - Volume compensation: vertical.
      If the installation position is horizontal or at a slant, the effective volume and the maximum permitted flow rate of the operating fluid are reduced.
      I hope that this will be helpful. Please, don't hesitate to ask more questions in comments if needed.

    should inflate the nitrogen first, then install the seals. Also, it doesn't show the charging gauge, this is weird or may be for video demo purpose only...

    We have older bladder of 29L but now we have 35L, all dimensions are same as older.
    Please guide does it make any change or it will be OK in operation? Please guide

      Hello Ammad, thanks for your question. What we could suggest is to use genuine parts and follow the instruction guide of the manufacturer.

    Hi. If the accumulator blows and the nitrogen gets mixed with oil. Oil should be replaced?

    Why nitrogen gas is used in accumulator ; oxigen is why not?

    • @ValExperimenter
      @ValExperimenter 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Highly compressed oxygen is very reactive, and can explode by burning any oil present or even the bladder itself. Air at high pressure is also reactive. If you are interested search for bomb calorimeter to see how reactive high pressure oxygen can be.

    • @ufuksaglam5771
      @ufuksaglam5771 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vikash Rawat because there is no oxygen; A flammable gas is a burning gas that can not be used to react with mineral oil and to ignite again.
