I bought this bag in December, haven't got to use it much since I don't fish during ohio winters. But have recently finally got to test it out after spending all winter trying to figure out how to pack it w/ out it being overloaded in stress on the bag, *or my back! I got this same model, but I chose the insulated cooler bag option instead of the bassdash boxes.. it fits inside the bottom section of the bag where the 3600s go... its nice for packing an extra drink and also live bait if I have it on me. *I'll be carrying the cooler bag. Dont buy their 3670 boxes.they are a size between 3600-3700 and fit the bottom portion specifically... theyre very over-priced and really don't give you that much extra tackle storage. you can fit your 4, 3600 in the bottom, and there's room leftover on the side and you can slide in a basspro/plano 3500/3450 in that leftover space... So you can unvelcro the center divider and fit a few 3700s in here, but myself, I put 3, 3600s in the bottom main compartment,*with the extra space filled w the small bp3500 box on the side.. with my 4th and heaviest 3600 in the separate bottom base portion..* this helps w toppling over chances.. and also by only using 3 in the main section gives you enough room on top to still fit a 3700... *I prefer bags where boxes lay flat Overall I think it's a pretty good bag.. im hoping it holds up for a while! My complaints are really kinda minimal.. Lack of inner pockets kinda sucks.. bags like the T-warehouse bag have nice little accessory pockets on the inside *not thr baggies.. some of those clear zip up more water resistant pockets inside would be nice for phones or wallet/documents.. even some mesh inner pockets inside some of the outer pockets would be nice! *but because of this, I have gotten creative and have bought some very small flambeau 1002 like, pocket boxes to store in the side and back pockets if needed. The rod holders suck, but I use it for my small hand crayfish bait fish hand net.. works perfect for it! You are right about the zippers.. they seem ok but kinda stiff.. though it's still new... the zipper on the cooler bag is kinda weird too.. Even though this bag has a ton of room, I wouldn't recommend packing it with lots of stress on the zippers.. and if you have it packed heavy, I dont recommend lifting it with the top loop.. that seemed like one of the weaker points on the bag.. I just hope it's easy to clean up the bottom of it gets mud or dirt Options are endless on setting this bag up.. you can really pack it a ton of ways. As long as it holds up, I think this is the best bag for the money on the market right now. I spent about 2 months looking for a new one and wish these videos were up here when I was looking.
BTW when I was bag shopping, my final choices were this bassdash bag, the flambeau portage bag, the mossy oak widemouth double decker bag, and the flambeau heritage bag.. I upgraded from an ugly stick bag that I liked, but was too small. And was top heavy

It really sucks buying stuff online sometimes.. these companies sometimes offer only stock pics, and like in your one video, you proved the side pocket couldn't hold extra 3500s as advertised. I do a ton of research before buying anything, especially something as important as my tackle bag.

The mesh pocket for rod holder should be deeper and the velcro should go above the reel. Totally agree, wish the rain cover came out of the bottom pocket... that pocket seems weird and would like the extra space in the top pocket. Can we redesign the bags as we go...lol. In future videos, can you show boxes, plastics, scales, etc in the smaller pockets (like you did in the four 3600s, the water bottle, and the rod in the holder)? Really thorough review. Really looking forward to this series.
I just got this bag and really enjoy it. I realized that you can just skip the mesh pockets and put your rod handles inside the bottom pocket and zip the pocket as far as it will go. The rods sit much further down that way. The bottom pocket is advertised for an extra storage space for a 4th tackle box, I am using it to store stink dough bait inside of a gallon zip lock bag with the air pressed out of the bag. Keeps the stink bait away from other compartments. I also realized that not only did they design the main top compartment with the back to front curved zippers for easy access to fit larger items easily, that if you are using a water bladder you put it in the interior pocket and then when you zip it shut your drinking tube ends up in the middle where the zippers meet and is rearward to strap the tube to a shoulder strap. I love this bag. Tight lines everyone!
Have you ever ran across any backpacks that have separate upper and lower compartments? When I say separate I mean, without the removeable shelf. My issue is, I don't bring 4 tackle trays. I might bring one or two at the most and what happens is, everything on top just falls thru to the bottom...
Great videos! I bought this one before watching. It’s a nice setup, but the handle broke as I was setting it up and the stitching is coming apart. Any thoughts on another one with good storage space on top and preferably an in place divider? Thanks!
Really enjoyed this review. I’m in the market for a backpack, mainly for surf/saltwater and this would include travel fishing (airlines). Is this a good backpack for that? I’m thinking size is important as well as water proof.
It's a pretty nice pack for sure and would work well for travel. It's a large pack, with tons of storage space. The bag is not really waterproof, but the bottom of the bag is supposed to be waterproof and it does come with the built in rain cover which will do well in keeping your stuff dry. If you go with a truly waterproof option, the material has to be similar to what you get with dry bags and that limits the pockets on most bags. I have a couple of waterproof bags on the channel you can look at. They are great bags, but will have alot less storage options for you.
@@MrBassTV - yeah there are tradeoffs for sure with any of the bags. After watching your other video on the egofishing backpack that might be the best option for me. The dry bags in general won’t really be easy to take with and using on the spot. I’m more of a run/gun bow hunter and that’s how I fish….always on the move. I might just get a rain cover for the egofishing backpack and call it a day.
recently bought this backpack in 2023. Like it and will likely keep it ...however the 600D material is not inspiring confidence. It feels very stiff and brings to mind those old heavy vinyl picnic table covers. Those always developed cracks with time. To me that's an area of concern causing me to be suspicious of long term durability. We need to see reviews after a year or more real world use .
That uber complicated zipper that loops around and cross and back and down to open the pack would without a doubt be horrible for me. I can't imagine reaching around in my kayak and trying to complete that entire zipping process without throwing myself out the yak in a fit of aggravation.
I wonder if the bottom that zips can be a seat to sit on when you sit the bag on the ground and it flips out. Also you should do a review on the Piscifun fishing bag. Is the best seller on Amazon.

I dig it. I would definitely put some first aid stuff in the pocket below the sunglasses. Maybe a little travel size bottle of sun screen too
