Am very grateful for the existence of this channel! ❤
I listen to many of your videos at work where there's some amount of constant noise in the background - but your clear audio and diction stand out even among all that. (As opposed to someone like essentialsalts, whose audio requires headphones).

Thanks so much! Feels great to get feedback like this - do you have any short stories or essays you’d like me to read? Or any series I haven’t posted in a while you’d like continued? Always happy to take requests when people are so kind.

I agree... his diction is above most of other channels on these subjects. They sound like they are making things up as they go, in the moment, whatever comes to mind in that instant.

    56:01 to 56:09 😂 So true! 💯
When Schopenhauer told a fact that was and still is in most cases true, the vulgar and fools called him a pessimistic.

1:08:30 That’s a mistranslation from French. It’s a forest full of thieves (Bandits).

@@TheCuratorIsHere do you have the French as listed and how it translates? Would like to pin this comment as a correction. Thank you!

I’m so grateful for your readings of Schopenhauer. Have you considered doing The World as Will and Idea?

Thanks! And I have considered it, but I don’t tend to do large works as they take a very long time to make and I do also work full time and goto school. Maybe someday when I have more time

Shouldn't we all be a bit suspicious that a man of intellect, writer, and alone by his nature, praises, prefers, and puts intellect and aloneness above all else?? All his counsels drive towards those ends.
Same with any other man and his professions IF those are of higher esteem than most in society.

Well, to play the devil's advocate ... If God can be represented as eternal _changelessness,_ then change is exciting bc it expresses the new. So, a godless life.
I think that's how we got into this whole mess, long, long ago.

Schopenhauer's Will is an impersonal energy essentially an impersonal God he just didn't want to use any religious connotations basically he is a Toaist.
