Good morning GB. Your tutorial is really helpful 🎉. Thank you. I am new to this industry and have not sewn anything yet but have seen different videos and articles on pattern drafting. I have observed with dismay this zipper bulging on many garments especially Ankara gowns, very common with ladies with large butts and small waist. But the bulging isn't right on the waist but somewhere between the waist and the butt, even on garments with bust darts. Am wondering if it's not necessary to snatch the 1 inch you demonstrated even in gowns with waist darts in order to put to rest this irritating sight. What's your take on this?
You can actually use this one inch method of slanting your dart and as well use the bust dart technique. For myself, when I'm drafting my gown, I don't use bust dart, but I use this technique of slanting the zipper for it. So for plus that has a large butt, I will advice you do the bust dart for them, or you can slant up to 2 inches from the waist line. Another thing, I will advice is that you measure their back length, reduce from the upper bodice and increase their skirt back length by doing slash and spread for the plus size, with this you can take off every unwanted part from them, plus size pattern drafting is a bit tricky and you need to be more careful while drafting their pattern. I will share soon by God's grace, how to draft a skirt pattern for plus size with the slash and spread method (ie increasing the skirt part). I believe, have been able to answer your questions. Thanks

You are welcome
I notice you didn't add the 1" dart intake at the centre back to the hip line, that will shorten the front length. My thought
It won't shorten anything ma
Just give it a trial
