Jesus Knows Exactly What He's Doing
Rev. Alyse Viggiano uses Roald Dahl's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as a metaphor for today's Gospel reading. We cannot earn our golden ticket to salvation, because it is given freely to each of us through Christ's sacrifice. So we must shift our mindset from a posture of control to one of reception. Will we be preoccupied by our worldly wants, like the children who dropped out of the chocolate factory tour? Or will we enjoy the tour, like Charlie?
