Thank you for posting about this. I’ve also had similar issues. I get a high pitched whistle with a crow and without the crow. When the crow is not there I scrape more and it comes out but the high pitch whistle is still there. Is this the same problem here or is there a different fix? :)
That whistle sometimes happens when the tip is too thin or too long and thin for the reed- I would maybe scrape more in the heart area to drop the crow then clip back aggressively. Does that feel resonant for your issue?
Jennet Ingle I thought maybe there are some thinner spots/unevenness so I tried clipping but it got harder and started losing the crow. Tried scraping the heart but the tone became too thin for my liking so I end up tossing the reed in frustration lol it’s a tough balancing act I know !!!
