@@bananabrooks3836 and probably still knows more about Euro bikes than most, he only talks about American bikes with passion as that where his passion is, that's what the museum is and it's a pure joy to watch
You are correct about them being able to handle modern roads and highways . I ride my 1949l EL on the highway all the time. No problem keeping up or passing cars. It doesn't stop as quickly as my other bikes as I'm still running the stock drum brakes. But it goes fast enough all day long.
What a dream bike If I was to build one I wouldn't change a thing Love the bobbed fenders . Bars .and color scheme. Great job Always loved this channel
At this point it is almost useless to complement you the beautiful bike. All of the bikes in the museum are beautiful in their own way. Whether it is their beautiful history, ingenuity, ergonomics, etc.....they are all beautiful and incredible machines. I love this channel!!
I put THAT exact “ old school “ pogo - style seat set up on an old 72’ FLH . To this day , 13 HD’s later - not one other machine has the comfort that he described in this very well done and well worded video ! Great job , young man ! Peace ☮️
Matt , I always am inspired by your passion for what you do. You and your people do an incredible job! That's an awesome build and I would love to own it. Thank you for all you do!
Hey Dale we need more videos of you riding. It’s so satisfying watching a living legend riding his own builds. Not to mention the machines are just flawless.
Matt, your love of what you do and your passion for these classic machines makes this the best site. All that aside, this is truly the prettiest bike I've ever seen. I'd ride that bike into the sunset for the rest of my days...
It's great you men are preserving history and you do a fine job of it Many years ago when I was riding way 62 FLH daily we referred to the brakes as H.D. coaster brakes same for my 47 chief that a young man turned into expensive scrap when he left turned me. I'm a lifelong rider loved motorsickles my entire life but in today's distracted traffic my 6 piston Brembo's save my life almost everytime I ride .
Awesome how those parts & assemblies were basically utilized in one form or another until recent times (1990 or so). Other people might think that Harley had No idea how to modernize, but this technology was viable & satisfactory for the longest time. Harley had some darn good engineering overall.
Sir, cheers from France, you passion is incredible, you share so many love for the motorcycle world, this channel is benchmark for bike's lovers. thanks
I gotta agree with you on the Pre 65 four speeds being good stuff. The new knuckle you all have built is an absolute show stopper, it looks absolutely amazing. Matt, job well done to you and your whole crew.
@@gteefxr3094 nothing wrong with them. They’re just tougher to get to work with a knucklehead or panhead since those engines didn’t come with electric start. The 65 panhead was the first year of electric start so it has a longer sprocket shaft on the engine.
Thing is pretty cool Matt I’m really glad I found this channel. I love motorcycling more than anything and I’m a history buff as well so combining the 2 is just great
I know the Panhead is the Iconic engine due to the ‘60’s Chopper era but, I’ve always thought the Knucklehead is the most Beautiful and Muscular looking engine ever built by the MoCo.
The knucklehead is my favorite Harley engine , 2nd is the WL series. The raffle bike is a beauty but I don't care for the bobbed fenders , on a wet road you'd get road spray in your face and on your back.
Wow I'm hooked ,I will buy a few tickets, thanks for an awesome opportunity. You guys are doing an awesome job .I salute you ,hoping someday soon to visit your museum .Live to ride ,ride to live.
gorgeous bike, not really a fan of bobber's but that one is cool, would have loved to see if your phone was there at the end of the ride, you should do a review of the suspension and brakes in real world conditions
First thing I would do if I win is ride it home to Chicago and stare at it all winter and when spring rolls around go on a road trip with it and definitely stop at the museum along the way! 🤞🤞
The real answer for vintage motorcycle for modern use is the pre-unit Royal Enfield Bullet 350 which was built for over 50 years in India; the reason for this is that spares are and will always be available forever because a lot of those motorcycles are still used everyday like how I do - cheers from chennai
Gotta chime in. Most bikes may not be suitable for today's roads. True. But I see some in clip that go great on a board track race. Those 1910's you got there have created a new(I guess new) wave of peeps who put em back to racing. Small in numbers, maybe....but the board track scene has made a comeback.
I always get a kick out of seeing your sand hill with mmc sign. I bought my last bike from a member. Also I drive by their MT. Garfeild property everyday going to work.
Young man I hope you know just how blessed you and your father has been to be around such beautiful motorcycle, Jesus has blessed you and your father for sure.
The probl with no/sshort fron fenders is the water being thrown up in front of you, and into your face. If you only ride dry weather, no probl, but irl that's rarely a choice most places.
I think God had something to do with the inspiration of the Knuckle Bobber because they are just a thing of beauty and looking at that one , well , it's just art !!!
Where do I get a batwing/tail muffler? I want to get a 2 into 1 headpipe, vintage look, for my 2018 Heritage Softail, then use the vintage styled muffler.
To my sensibilities that's a very well proportioned motorcycle. Almost like the ergos are exactly where they need to be. This is obviously decades before the unnaturally low and back seats, ridiculous forward foot controls and ape high steerer pretzel. A modern version of this bike with a Sportster motor would be great.
Always amazed at the way Matt just rolls out the information 😮
And ignores what the Europeans were doing....
@@bananabrooks3836 He doesn’t ignore it, but he’s an American motorcycle expert, not european

My go to is a 58 OP FL, it used to be my 65 bastard
Get those break in miles in so I can ride that baby home after the raffle. Look forward to seeing y'all this season. Keep those videos coming.
Visited your place a couple years ago, loved it !! and enjoy your video content. Keep up the great work !!
Just visited this place and it was great. The staff interacts with the guests and answered questions and they know their stuff.
Glad to see someone else who appreciates the "original" 6 volt system. Won't ever convert my two older bikes. It was good enough back in the day....

even without the dampeners those springers handle really well
Hydraulic dampening makes this the PERFECT front end. Far superior to telescoping hydro front ends.😇

That is the perfect build for that bike right down to the tires! I would kill to own and ride that well maybe not kill but injure severely!
