Yes I can not find it called Dash 4 election. Maybe he is referring to Reg 1.469-4 which is when you group real estate activities together. the reg ends with a -4 so I think that is it.

As far as state sales tax on leased equipment. I am sure you are correct in most states but in South Carolina there is no sales tax on "services" which I would assume leasing equipment would be considered a service so no state sales tax. Would it be beneficial under these circumstances?

I'm specifically thinking of borrowing from a Roth 401k. To me it sounds like a way to get in the back door. Not in the typical back door Roth way 😊
