I used to take the commuter rail line Worcester/Boston and used to see a huge neckface hand every week in like 2004/5 maybe. Give a year or two. Was up for only like a month or two. Glad he got his due. First thing i found of his online was from a New Image Art gallery show. They showed a lot of the art underground then. Graffiti and just noise freaks.
All this time I never realized neckface was doing self portraits

It’s cool because it’s not typical throw-up style with a name in bubble letters, that’s stuff is cool but this is different. I guess it’s “street art” right... not a throw up necessarily. The general public will notice this more than they would regular graffiti.

Only there is rules in both graff and skateboarding. You can break them but you will be ridiculed or possibly beat up. Push mongo or go over an established writer and you will see that there are indeed rules in both subcultures. I get what you are saying tho you are free to express yourself how ever you want.

@@swanvonmane8533 not these days obviously but I grew up skating in the 90s it was a different time. Skateboarders used to constantly beef over little things and gatekeep spots. It was not nearly as inclusive and progressive as it is now.
