Way back in the day when I first got into vdubs everything had to be cal look or stock which never made sense to me ,it wasn't till the younger people got into them and saw the beauty in the rust and refused to paint over it ,bravo young people 👏
that's pretty sick. love the patina. i do prefer the flat windshields to the super beetles though i do have a super beetle.. i definitely want to bag mine, too, and perhaps one day either go fully electric for that instant power but i'd prefer the sound of a twin turbo..
Fantastic vw. This looks incredible. One thing people don't mention alot on these videos and a sense you do miss watching a video is the smell of a vw interior. You get into one, especially if it's not been restored much. And the smell is just vintage all of its own really. I'd love to get another old vw. Just amazing little simple machines. Fantastic video BTW. ! An idea on a future video is a sort of walk around tour of them. Say hey this is what a pretty stock type bug is like. And then the customised patina one at a different scale. Just epic to watch stuff about these cars. Haha 👌🤙
Thanks for the kind words and recommendations! If you're in the market for one, I highly recommend them. They're great for cruising. You can't beat the smell of an older car, and personally I like the more "raw" experience of driving them vs anything newer (last 20 years or so maybe). I am going to try to get a video out here in the next couple of weeks, I actually have some time this weekend if the weather wants to cooperate. life has been busy lately, just never enough time.
They were actually custom made from a shop in California I believe. I’ll try to remember to look on here to see if you reply, but don’t always get notification, but dm me on Instagram if you want the shops info and I can dig through some paperwork this weekend to find the name of them if you need it
Thank you! The orange is a '72, but more original besides the PO removed the external turn signals and moved them to the headlights (which honestly I kinda prefer in later bugs). I'm in the Quad Cities area. If you know where Davenport Iowa is, I live basically across the river from there.
Im in Northern Illinois. I’m “beetle shopping” and trying to find one, either 1967 or pre 1964. I’m primarily looking in California because rust is no fun. I have never driven one tho🥺
@@mxaexm You should watch the most recent video i uploaded it's about why you should buy one #shamelessplug lol. But they're fun little cars, you wont regret picking one up, and most likely if it's not for you, you could get rid of it for what you'd have into it. I've always wanted the patina style of the one in this video so theyre a little harder to come by with specific years/style. I found this by dubuque ia, which is within 2 hours of where I'm at. 0 rust minus the patina. I ended up buying the orange about 3 years ago because it was such a good deal, but the floors could be replaced someday, no holes and it's kind of the daily nice weather car, so not top of the priority list atm. But rust free ones come up around here a fair amount, you just gotta be ontop of them. I was going to travel south and drive one back this following year if this one hadnt come up. If you have any questions about them or anything you can dm me on instagram at no_traction. More than happy to answer questions if you have any
If your video animation reflects your personality, you have a very funny sense of humor. I think you're extremely rare in the VW community.

Great looking Beetle. I'd love to see the work you or others have done to it. Even just an in depth tour. Thanks!
Thanks! Hoping to find some time this week to make some videos, life always seems to get in the way but that is on the list of videos I’ll be making

Lower than a snakes ball bag
Is that real patina or a wrap?
50-ish years of mother nature😍 I do think it's been repainted once in it's earlier life, but it's real
