I have listened to many a cover of this song since this was posted way back when... But to me this has always been the definitive version. The lyrics flow just right with no weird breaks, everything fits the meter, the voice has power but also a sort of desperate cry to be heard behind, and it all fits together just right. Outstanding work that I haven't seen anyone else since.

In short don't just throw your opinion around like that. Their comment said that this is the song that made them want to watch the anime. While you go on a different tangent entirely. I don't believe he mentioned which one was the best but that *this* one in particular made him interesting watching the anime. So why are you talking about Nate?
Because he sang "In My World" as a English cover, too; it sounds better like these singers. Sorry about that. I should have said that opinion as a comment rather than a reply; I didn't want it to be that irrelevant, however, how is Nate's cover irrelevant? He's another singer that influenced people to watch The Blue Exorcist, too. There were comments on that cover that made them want to watch the anime just like this one; I was doing comparison.

Well this song is a fandub meaning its English, and he would like his song be open to all audiences, where children dont have to worry about F bombs. +"F--- This Destiny" doesnt have enough syllables so he had to choose "I Wont Let Fate Be My Guide" You see?

Nothing's wrong with his voice, the key of the instrumental is just a little too high, haha. You can tell that his voice is amazing, it's just that his voice is too low for the song. If he could tune the song to better compliment his singing, then song would be even better than it already is.

No it's not, it's obvious. The way he struggles with the high parts clearly shows that his natural voice is too deep too keep up with the notes. It wasn't an opinion, it was a correction.

The Kraken King to me it's the other way around. Im interested in why you see it that way tho. To me it's because when the started using this song towards the last half of the show it's when we find yukio worried and trying to conceal his powers awakening for the most part. And as he is doing this he's kinda pushing everyone away. At least until the first time he says good by precious life. From there it talks about rin until the yeah then it goes back to yukio then Rin. With the 4 verses ( I think idk ) it's yukio,Rin,(yeah)yukio,Rin. Yukio basically saw his life falling apart when he had his powers surfacing and basically trued to throw his life away for Rin by taking rins place. If you look at the lyrics on the parts I say are rims their a bit lighter as he saw his friends and his father's death as his reason to fight and he tried to gain people's respect because they mostly seen him as the son of Satan.

Gotta go with the generic answer of DBZ. That or maybe Pokemon. After I learned that Dragonball Z was from Japan and not America I started getting interested. Then I somehow started watching Naruto at some point and eventually dropped it. Then I finally watched an anime that wasn't a shonen (or pokemon) in the form of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and have been hooked on these lovely "chinese cartoons" ever since.
Least that's how I think it went down, my memory for this stuff can be pretty bad. But these are the events of my anime infancy that stick out.

Well to be completely honest, there is blood and there is some kind of dark nature to it in the beginning and the end. However it has plenty of comedy relief and there is a lot of light episodes. It's easy to watch and enjoy :D Do make sure to watch the movie after the show too! It may make you cry a bit at the end and that's really it.
