Привет! Хорошая рыбалка. Почти, как у нас в Ярославле.
I realize it's an older video... but... DUDE! Your wrap up.... my HOUSE is in your video!? lolol this is nuts! I fished that entire spot today (I think) on my rowboat/elec troll with just a single pickerel.. uhg! Had to Sub' and Full bell!
Thanks so much! I appreciate that a lot. Thanks for stopping by! Best of luck out there I hope you catch em up. 👍
Nice catches, I'm looking to get on the Passaic with kayaks this Sunday, still trying to find somewhere decent to launch, going for my first pike!
@@thelinecook I didn't catch shit other than grabbing a few water snakes. But I was throwing spinners (various colors), swimsuits, zoom flukes (supers and regs) and some chatterbaits. Nothing worked. I just gotta figure out where to look, I was throwing into heavy cover with the spinners and flukes.
Nick S you are definitely on the right track. Look for significant bends in the river with some downed trees . 👍👍
Fished the Passaic yesterday down river pretty far. 3 bass 2 pickeral. Such an underrated fishery. Enjoyed the video!
Daniel Ringel you never know what you are gunna get ! There are some giants in there .
Nice vid! I fly fish for Pike from time to time in the Passaic! Bring hook cutters with you, I have used them on Musky....super easy to replace a hook or wire.
Very true! I just hate leaving a big hook dangling in their mouth. Thank you very much for stopping by and watching! Good luck out there 👍
That was a sick Pike man, thanks for sharing it with us! Wish we had some by us here in FL 😩
Thank you! They get a whole lot bigger to here, just need to find them 😂. I appreciate your support so much.
Where on the Passaic is this?
hey man i knew this video was in the spring but i’m trying to go there this friday. any tips on what bait and good stops. trying to catch some pike.
Haven’t been pike fishing in a little bit, but I would try some swimbaits, spinnerbaits and maybe throw a crankbait or jerkbait. I’d use a steel leader if possible and a reel with 30lb braid, this way if you get a snag you might be able to rip it out. The Passaic is a hit or miss.... find a few spots on the river maybe a bridge or a bend in the river, that’s where I find fish. Best of luck
what type of bait is this? Im newer to fishing and it would be helpful to know. Thanks!
@@thelinecook also where is this spot because im going to the passiac soon and It would be helpful if you can tell me thank you so much!
@@SupremeDoge-gz1wi I’m sorry I try not to give out my exact spots but best of luck out there
Great catches. But just curious. Do u find a certain time of day is better than others for pike fishing in the passaic?
During Spring/summer months it’s best to fish early mornings or evenings. The middle of the day it gets to hot.
@@thelinecook Thx, that's when I usually fish this time of year too. But I've never fished for pike before so I wasn't sure if they are more active at certain times of the day than others.
Hey. Awesome video. What pole/reel are you using?
Thank you! I use that combo for inshore fishing too, to answer your question it’s a st croix mojo inshore 7’6 with a daiwa tatula 200hsl, 30lb braid.
The Line Cook do you think that would be a combo I can use for salt water fishing such as ling or sea bass? Thanks!
It would be a great jigging rod for sea bass as well. I put the power handle on the reel and it helps a lot with grip. Just gotta rinse it out after you’re done using it
Got to wear boots when fishing the Passaic River the shore line is really muddy..... got to plan so you don't track it in your car.
Yup definitely the right move. I had waders on. I just put them in a bin then rinse them off when I get home. You can sink really fast In that mud. Thanks for watching.
@@thelinecook I used to work in Florham Park and would eat lunch by the canoe launch on Columbia Tpke....brought a fishing pole a few times and made a few casts...the mud was a real turn off as I had to get back to my office....where abouts were you fishing? I'm now retired now live lakefront about an hour and 15 minutes away from there...no mud fishing at home.
@@douglasdingwall1596 I haven’t been to the river over a year now but that is one of my main go to spots as well! Right under that bridge is great sometimes. 👍
I know where this is but how did u get to river from the parking lot? Is there a path behind the school?
I don’t know if there is a school by this spot but I wouldn’t be surprised. I just walk through the woods along the river. Thanks for watching 👍
Passaic River??? You are not concerned about all the nasty garbage in that river?
I’m totally concerned about that. That’s why I always catch and release there. No way I’m eating anything from that river. Only fish for fun. 👍
I’ve been kayaking up river around the Great Swamp and it’s pretty clean. I always catch bass. The furthest up river I’ve seen Pike was in Gillette. There’s also some huge carp in there.
Burning spots
I normally bass fish, but today went for northern pike. Was there for 2.5 hours and missed one. It hit my spinner bait 3 times right by the bank and I was standing on a tree haha. The 3rd time I set the hook and missed him. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the comment! I’m glad you almost got him. Now you have to go again to hook him!
