Every time I see someone building such a wonderful instrument with total dedication, with patience, with craftsmanship and with precision, I am completely thrilled and grateful for being able to witness it. Thank you very much, all the best for the new year and greetings from far away Germany 🤗🙏🙋♂️
That was a real treat to watch. Absolutely beautiful !! Back around 1990 I purchased a D-18 Shenandoah kit. Had it assembled for another 100 $ The gentleman doing the work then asked me if I wanted any extras ? Ended up using abalone mother of pearl for the inlays. Decided on using the big hexagon's on the fingerboard like on the 45 models. The 12th fret was solid abalone with my name engraved in it. I had a total of just under 350.00 $ When I picked it up a month later, I couldn't believe how amazing it looked and sounded !! It was a short lived relationship though. Life happens and things turned upside down and I was forced to sell it. I Kick myself to this day for that one !! I'd like to purchase another kit and put it together myself. I believe it would be very satisfying and maybe help me to get over that D -18 !!!
I’m not a luthier. But I could complete my first ever violin 🎻 project. Without people like you on TH-cam it wouldn’t be possible. Now I’m thinking about making a guitar 🎸. Good tutorial. ❤️💙
There is shop near my apartment, they made atleast 2-3 per day, never seen them to give so much time and dedication to a single guitar, They randomly made them and sell, but this, this is with love, I know the difference cause I have seen them both. The ons who will have that guitar will never regret.
Wow!! I am trying to learn guitar building and I am blown away by your resourcefulness and what you produced with simple, low-cost tools. The clarity and sonic perfection of your instrument make me so inspired to get back into my shop and learn to use my CNC machine and other tools!! Thank you!! I would LOVE to see a slower/normal speed version of this video!!
Thanks so much for making this video!! It's exactly what I needed this morning as I sit in awed contemplation of my instrument, the incredible craftsmanship that goes into these is not celebrated enough!! Thank you!!
lovely build - a little to quick for my taste, to see any of the actual work... BUT: I love all those fixtures... like the clamping down one with the rods... genius.
Whew, lots a lot of work/and looks amazing. Hand made anything, /got a friend that does hand made leather goods; always comes out full of heart and soul. lovin it!. Great vid, -Cheers
WOW!! Great 1st build, fine precision homemade tools/machines. Love the passion in your work. You've motivated me to start my build this year, I'll be happy if mine turned out half as good. But first go to clear the garage. Lol...
Go for it Ankit! It was a lot of fun building a guitar! I always want to build a koa guitar. Koa is expensive so I will leave it later when I'm better at it.
That was the best 10 min break from work I did last month :) Thanks for taking the time for making this video. Great job, end result looks and sounds great!
I know this is an older video but this was awesome to watch. What are those long white (maybe fiberglass) pieces you used to hold the reinforcements in glacé while the glue dried?
The amount of work is simply insane!!! Every step was a delight to watch, this is pure beauty. I can almost smell the wood species coming out of my screen😍. Amazing job dude, well done! ! !
how to fix a sunken soundhole which warped the top of the guitar all the way till the f cut? will adding blocks of wood as support columns help to push back up the sunken soundhole? or a straight longitudinal beam that'll push between tail and heel blocks relieve the tension? please guide thanks!
"Gobar deck" is the name. It's a simple device so I made it myself with plywoods and steel threaded rods. The white rods are 3/8 fiber glass round rods. You can buy from online luthier suppliers like LMI and stewmac. Thank you for watching my video, David!
a Master Craftsman Guitar Builder..But PLEASE be careful with those sleeves ..I know u understand the dangers .just thought I'd remind ..Beautiful instrument ..
@ 4:04 eye CT. 91 clothespins? Why? U took the time two reinforce all w/ rubber band sew eye had two. Hope your finger healed ok. Just finished watching @ -25% speed, (then) ewe said "background music" is by this instrument! Superb video! No stupid humor; TH-cam video makers, this means some of U! Quality throughout handcrafted guitar instruction video. Thank you for sharing your beautiful instrument w/us. Please ignore my spelling humor, ssshhh O_O
Thanks for the nice words! Really appreciate it. Yes the rubber band enforced clothpins are applying pressure when gluing kerfed linings. I hurt my finger by using the home made drum sander and it healed well but it was a horrible experience.
Thank you! I spent about 6 months on my first guitar. I didn't have a teacher but I learned from online luthier courses. Yes the bending machine and the gobar deck were built by myself.
Thanks Kyle! Since this was my first build (and I'm new to woodworking), I spent bigger % of $ on buying tools. The material of the guitar itself was actually cheaper, roughly less than $300 if i think about it now.
Thank you! That's a heating blanket I found from AliExpress. The exact item I bought is not available anymore. It is similar to this: a.aliexpress.com/_mKI4Kh7 hope it helps.
They are 3 songs from Masaaki Kishibe. In the order appearing in the video: "Feeling the morning light", "Childhood Dream", and "Haha". Check out this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLS8ibrIxhsow0apCy-13yRnRyqiGSDjOp.html :D
Gorgeous, thanks for sharing this. Two questions: how many hours did you invest? What previous craft, skills, or experience allowed you to achieve such good quality on your first attempt?
@@SmiTTyy-sh8nc I would have more fun building my own acoustics and learning a new skill. I just swapped out the saddle, nut, bridge pins with all bone and threw on some new strings on my japanese lawsuit guitar. I'd imagine I would have to save quite a bit to get all the tools necessary.
@@madmusicianmagician I hear ya man !! I bet it sounded like a new one after your tune up. I have an old Washburn that I've been trying to get dialed in now for a while. I've almost got it where it needs to be. The truss rod was frozen and it had a pretty bad outward bow going on. Got it freed up and in the process of fine tuning her. I guess a guy wouldn't need all the modern equipment but it's just going to take a lot longer to get there. But yeah, I'm definitely going to build one myself. Take care man 👍
oh, I see, do you have a video on doing that "shellac thingy"? I'm trying to restore my guitar but it's a satin finish... I don't know how to do it. I'm scared of using any chemical for its finish I've tried to find some video here on youtube but I can't find one. It's more on glossy type finish

Thank you for your encouraging words! Best wishes to you and your family as well and greetings from California 😀
The last part where it said the bg was played in this guitar, blew my mind. Hats off sir
Yeah for going into this video completely unemotional, that made me feel something!

Amazing craftsmanship and music. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Jun!
Love your " what I call" joe poke system for clamping.
I was waiting for a sound test, turns out this whole video IS a sound test 🔥🔥🔥

I've always enjoyed the sound of walnut, not many American Luther use it.

Will have to try my hand on making a guitar soon
This is awesome I’m also building an acoustic from scratch, great job
Thank you Ephram! Good luck with your build! I'm happy to discuss if you ran into any issue 😀
@@jianan hello jianan...i really impressed with your guitar and...i wanna ask the wood for the soundboard how much thick is it..?
Passion for the art of making guitar was evident in the video💙💙
Beautiful build and sound as well, thanks for sharing it....!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautyfull job, and sound/playing

Haha! The hardest part was to get started. For me I had to convince my wife to allow me converting our garage to a woodshop...
Right now I own a gs mini koa. Someday I will make a premium guitar for myself. Thanks for showing this

Really great video. Beautiful instrument and its sounds amazing. Well done.
I like Masaaki Kishibe Fingerstyle songs, I have a (Taylor 224ce Koa Deluxe Special Edition) and I also like to play Kenta Yago songs.
For how simple it actually is, that design with the router on the vertical track is genius.
Wow......
I watch your uploading video after a year ago.
It's very Interesting. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like Background music too. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice guitar and nice playing - congratulations.
such a beautiful clean work! thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching the video and the encouraging words!
I hope i can build my own guitar someday. It looks fun

Jianan, 好久不见~太牛了…被你老婆的朋友圈吸引到这里从头看到尾,很佩服,有耐心又有手艺!!!

Amazing playing and guitar! You must be living your life!

Wow very impressive for a first build!
Thank you!
Fantastic video thanks

Nice job. That drum sander looks familiar.
I followed your plan (from woodgears) 😀 thank you for sharing it!
I know this is an older video but this was awesome to watch. What are those long white (maybe fiberglass) pieces you used to hold the reinforcements in glacé while the glue dried?
Thank you, Trevon. Yes those are fiberglass. The system is called "go bar deck".
I love your work! amazing, you will reach excellent skill by no time!
Thank you so much 😀
He works so quickly!
The background music 🥰

Amazing. Would you tell me, why you did not use dovetail join?
Thanks Satria! For my first build, I wanted to keep things simple so I chose straight joint.
Pure patience

What are those white tube things you used on the top at around 4:50 used for?
Wow. That was great.Hi, from Turkey.
Good job.
Im sorry but that first acoustic background music is just amazing that I started imagining and couldn't focus on the video
Awesome work
What is the rod system you use to keep the braces down while the glue is drying? Is it something of your own design or is it a product?

Thank you, Tracy. I injuryed myself several times along the build nothing serious luckily. Safety is definitely the highest priority.
Wonder what the background music is. Especially the first song.
It's "feeling the morning light" from Masaaki Kishibe. th-cam.com/video/MdzRG7D_eD8/w-d-xo.html

What is that white lines like tube..?? Explain me please 👍
It's called go bars. Used to apply down pressure when gluing like braces.
Thank u...👍
Good job sir.. 👍👍

The music lulled me into a peaceful sleep. When I woke up, the guitar was finished.
Que violão lindo, parabéns...
