Ha! I know, right? 😁 I actually carry one in my backpack, but the inside of the cabin was brighter in person so I didn't think I needed it. I was wrong. Lesson learned. 😀
Thank you for the look at the Greenbriar Schoolhouse and the Walker cabin,I have always found the Walker families's story endearing. I live in Ky. and as a child visited Tennessee several times. I loved the Smokies ,beautiful any time of year!! Take care and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hi Karen! The Greenbrier Schoolhouse and Walker Sisters Cabin is one of my favorite hikes. I love seeing both places. There is so much history and beauty in the Smokies. Thank you, and have a Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Hi Margaret! Thank you for the kind words. Greetings from East Tennessee. 🙂 This is one of the best cabins that I have visited in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. However, there are many that are open to the public and are great too.
Same here. I didn't care for history either when I was younger, but now I find it very interesting. However, it's the hiking part I enjoy the most. 🙂 Thank you for the kind words.
This is one of our favorite hikes, that we have done many times. We love trying to read the old newspapers on the walls. There are usually so many people there. It is nice to have it by yourself, if only for 15 minutes. I am pretty sure that is a children's cemetery by the school. Thanks for the video!
I think today was longest amount of time that I had the cabin to myself. It's usually only about 5-10 minutes before someone shows up behind me on the trail.
Nice work! I just started a channel and almost went there this fall to do a segment. Walker Sisters use to make little brooms they sold to tourists as souvenirs, they have one on display in the East Tn Historical Society in downtown Knoxville.
Thank you. It's a great cabin to visit. Interesting information about them selling brooms. I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your channel.
Thank you. Several of the trails have these types of log bridges. The Walker Sisters are famous for their refusal to leave their home in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park after the park was established in 1934. They were self-sufficient farmers, seamstresses, artists, and cooks who became a tourist attraction after being featured in The Saturday Evening Post in 1946.
I was going to say that should purchase a head lamp for dark places. Thanks for another video.🙂

I think that it's a corn 🌽 crib 😮😊
Hi Michael! I believe you might be right. Thanks.
@justkeepwalkin 👍
Have you ever heard of a flash light?
What is this sorcery you speak of? 😁
I was going there today but the google said it was closed. Is it open?
Hi Dan. Yes, it was definitely open. Lots of people in that area today. No signs posted of closures either.
@@justkeepwalkin thank you I enjoy your videos. We went to Tremont yesterday. It was beautiful
@@danparks3799 I'm glad you had the opportunity to go. The Fall colors were incredible this weekend.
