    All your creations are amazing! Ruby captures my heart, too. Overall, I'm a slow knitter but am using fingering and 2.75 mm and 3 mm needles; they give me a chance to settle in, I guess. The cursive practice is a lovely craft to honor. When I was teaching (sped,) some of my middle school students asked if I could help them with cursive; it was dropped from the formal curriculum-sadly, in my mind. Of course, I helped them! Also, I used to write the daily goals and plans on the board in cursive. My hope was to help them be confident in reading that type of writing. All the best, Lynn

      Eeeek! Fingering and 2.75mm needles! Yes, the cursive was compulsory growing up and now I have kids who can't read my handwriting! I am having fun helping the kids. Good luck with the knitting and settling in...;)

    As I go 'round and 'round the sleeves with gray on my husband's sweater, I, too, crave colour work. I was encouraged to hear you say that you didn't have too many problems with plotulopi since I would really like to try it. I can't seem to get enough of Icelandic yarn these days. Comforting gentle armour, indeed.

    Interesting. I’m 33, and I learned cursive in grade 2. To this day 100% of what I write down, including grocery lists, are in cursive. Is that weird? I have never thought about it, but now I’m wondering if that’s not common anymore.

    • @FiberTrek
      @FiberTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not weird at all! I use a cursive type script when I write and I had a kid the other day tell me they couldn't read my writing..it was too fancy. I am not aware of the school I work in or my nephew's school of teaching cursive/penmanship. So it is novel to them...

    • @madelineomeara7387
      @madelineomeara7387 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s wonderful that you learned and use cursive. I’m a teacher in Colorado and our schools no longer teach cursive, saying they don’t have time. It’s unfortunate, especially since there is evidence that learning cursive improves reading fluency. But then, kids hardly read anymore. Keep at it! Maybe we will start a cursive revival. 😂❤

    So much goodness.. the cursive, the outdoor trekking in the snow, the hand stitching and of course the knits! I have some Manchelopi going on the needles soon and I am excited. Also, I can’t get enough of your 9 year old nephew’s persistent desire for a hand-spun pullover. Thanks for the lovely episode Sarah!

      Leanne, I can't wait to see what you end up doing with the manchelopi...I just can't get enough! Tonight I took the plotolopi sweater over to fit for length and he was like "Auntie Sarah, that's beautiful." and I was like...this kid is definitely a kindred spirit.

    Happy snows :) I’ve meant to say this since Dec - I went to support you on patreon but couldn’t afford the tiers. I’m not sure if the fees make it pointless but I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d patreon a smaller amount which would hopefully add up 💕

      Dear Savannah, I think the $3 is suggested and you can amend the pledge per episode in the check-out to less. Thank you for your interest in financially supporting my work. I am glad you're enjoying it and supporting it with wonderful comments as well. ;)

    Would you please clarify your patroon for me. The other one I joined was a monthly fee but I see yours is per episode. So, does it take money when you upload a new episode? Or is per episode that I watch? Just unclear how the payment works per episode.

    • @FiberTrek
      @FiberTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Kristen, each month it will aggregate the number of episodes and charge you the amount. I upload no more than two times per month for charged post so the most you would be charged is $6 if you keep the suggested pledge the least would be $3 if you keep the suggested pledge per episode. I also upload an additional podcast per month with no associated charge. Is this helpful? I think you can amend the pledge amount in check out.

    • @kristencolton8875

    • @FiberTrek
      @FiberTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kristencolton8875 I went and double checked this...and it looks like I set the minimum at $3.00 per episode...I wonder if the tier would let you set it for less. I'm afraid what my screen looks like might be different BUT in the upper right hand corner it says "what you pay" and there's a drop down tab where I think you can amend the 3.

      Thank you for taking the time to respond to me, look into this, and for your charity. I went to the patroon site. It will not allow me to join at the three dollar level paying less.
