For the kids who cook. Each kid takes one week of the month, and on their day that week, they need to make a new recipe they have found. It is just myself and my husband, and once a month, I try a new recipe. Sometimes I decide on a country, then try to make a dish from that country. It's a great way to change things up.
For your SJ house, could you change it to a VRBO/ AirBNB? If could still generate some income, but when you want to visit you still have it for your usage.
I think having a car specifically for the teens is a good idea. You would be able to teach them about saving money and buying their own gass and being responsible about cleaning it, letting you know something needs work on it and driving each other around verses asking Mom and Dad. After they get their licenses of course. Okay Shelly and kids, let's hope Jarred is on board with this. 😂 You could just get a large RV that would fit you and the kids to take with you to saint Johns; it would be cramped but you just have to remember it is a trip not a permanent and you could just park it in families driveway. But I do realize with a large family that would be a bit much. It is just a thought.
For the plates in their rooms, I have a solution! Keep a cart / little table outside each level where there are rooms and have them put their plates on there when they are done eating. Then make it the chore of the person who did not put their plates out to gather them all and take them to the kitchen :) This is how we used to do it at our house and it worked - worth a try!
One rule in my home, no food in bedrooms. Of course they ignored it but they were told if I have to come to bedroom to clean up, everything is fair game to be thrown out.
A Kia Telluride is what you need! I got a 2024 in the Fall and it's amazing!! There are 3 rows and every row has plenty of legroom.... adults fit great in the very back. And it drives super smooth!
So many parents tell their children what's going to happen so it's refreshing that you ask for their opinion about everything. Although Scotland sounds fun, I think as a family a cruise is the way to go.
For Aubrey… I too have a huge fear of water, especially open/large bodies of water. I went on a single cruise & this is what I recommend. I was told an exterior room was best… lies! You do not want to be looking out onto a desk with only water. Participate in all the activities on the ship, and go out on port when the ship docks. When moving around on the boat, travel in the center, and try not to focus out the windows. Cuz yes I have anxiety attacks and got a little sick because my husband wanted to RELAX in our room more than I could handle. Keeping busy is the way to go. I for one don’t ever want to go again, but that’s due to my experience. Do better than me!

For groceries - I had my son put the Walmart app on his phone so when he wants something he can put it in the cart if we approve it then we'll buy it. If we go to the store to shop we use the cart as the shopping list. As we put stuff in the cart we remove it from the cart online. So it's a list we all have access too and see what everyone wants. You can do that for your grocery store if it has online shopping option.
I feel like you guys would get into a routine, if you did 3 to 5 days a week, breaks are okay, but you guys are so loved by those that watch. We'd love it!

A cruise wouls be great for your family. There’s a lot to do for all ages. A cruise includes travel to different locations (most have beaches), all food and most activities included. Aubrey will love it, trust me. My son in-law was hesitant but now loves to go. We just got back from 12 nights in the Caribbean! 🚢🛳️🚢🛳️🚢🛳️

I have a 2021 Kia Sorento and i LOVE it! It has 3 rows and a spacious trunk. Plus it looks very sporty and has tons of safety features. 10/10 would recommend
Get a hotel or a RBnB for a long weekend whenever you go. A couple times a year will not be so costly. Makes more sense than spending over 3000.00 a month.
I have a Suburban, and I love it! I especially picked it because of the 3 rows and larger trunk space than other cars. When we travel, that extra space really helps! Or even if you go shopping lol
Hi Crazy Middles!! I am a mechanic in New York, and I feel through my years of experience with cars, a Chevy Tahoe or a Hyundai Palisade would fit your family perfectly. They have 8 seaters depending on the model you get, they are both reliable as long as you keep up with maintenance as with any vehicle, and they perform very well. I have never had any problems with them breaking down, not starting or anything like that. My personal opinion... the Tahoe does eat gas quicker than the palisade. But in New York we have some crazy hills depending on the area you are in. Arizona is different so I can't speak on behalf of that state. But those are the 2 bigger vehicles that I personally would get for your size family. One side note... they are both very easy to drive. Just want to put that out there lol. We have had a Toyota Highlander for so many years and we replaced our 2007 Highlander with 2019 but our 2007 was still in great shape and hadn’t needed any big repairs or problems with it. I have 4 teens and they are all happy with it too. They are very safe and reliable and I highly recommend;y recommend it.

I own a Ford Expedition and its actually my 3rd one since 2004. I cant drive anything else. Its big enough for my family with plenty of extra room and the 3rd row seating is awesome. Scotland and Ireland are on my bucket list for sure!! Hope you guys make some wonderful plans
You should ask them if they want to go to Williamsburg VA . So much history. It's beautiful there. I lived there for 2 years and I'm only an hour and a half away and they have so many fun things for the kids . 😊

My kids are adults now and say we had the same thing everyday. I rotated meals every 2 weeks between 8-12 meals. Meal planning was hard with 2 kids, I can't imagine with your family!
You can do Scotland and Ireland in one holiday. And also include England and Wales and see bits of the whole place depending on how long you spend there. All together it's just a bit bigger than the whole of Arizona. It's beautiful!❤
I live in Scotland and to do it properly its not doing it at same time as rest of uk.. you can easily spend a week on East Coast another week driving the nc 500 and you've not touched the west coast or the borders etc ..its going to feel very cramped doing Ireland and any of England at same time

Meant it more like if they wanted to visit the two castle's they talked about and see some other stuff, they can do that easily. Not if they're going for a few days, but you can see a lot in like two weeks.
It's cheaper to rent a house when you go to St.Jhons. In this way you can sell you house, if you are not going often, renting when you visit it's an option.
I really loved Shelly's idea of just everyday things on the vlog. I think if you do so many each week, the videos will start to feel forced and you will lose the spontaneity. I mean planning a vlog is not a bad thing but maybe a mix of both formats?
I just bought a Kia Serento. It has 3 rows and doesn’t feel like you are driving a huge SUV. I feel like it’s a compromise having the 3 rows but also being more compact and easier to drive for new drivers.
Visiting Scotland is an amazing idea. I live in England and have to say Scotland is absolutely beautiful there is lots of beautiful places to visit. Its also the same for England Ireland and Wales there is lots of castles from every century to visit and see. Just remember the weather in the UK is crazy in one day you can have snow rain hail and glorious sunshine haha. Just be prepared xx
For the car situation, we have a Ford expedition you can have 2 rows in the back or you can do captains chairs but it’s a very big car and can fit lots of ppl hope this helps!!
If you decide to go to Scotland, maybe you could do what my son and his friends did when they visited Ireland. They rented a houseboat, and hired a captain to navigate. That way they didn't have to worry about changing hotels and dragging their things from place to place. They had an absolute blast, and saw some wonderful sites.
You can take a cruise to Scotland. See a little bit of it and see how the weather is. Aubrey cruising isn't bad. I been on a few cruises and they can be fun.
My husband solve the leaving dishes in the bedroom with our daughter. He took her bedroom door off the hinges until she got in the habit of returning the dishes to the kitchen. It took about 2 months.
Watching the current conversation about vlog schedule. I don’t feel like you have to decide activities to vlog 3-5 times a week. We enjoy just the daily craziness. Especially love when a kid takes over the camera. While different perspectives.
I love how you're not throwing cars at your teens unlike Crystal who throws a car at her kids pretty much the second they get their permits and also throws them behind the wheel with little to no hesitation as soon as they get out of the DMV
Aubrey I'm with you! No cruise for me either. I won't even go to a beach near an ocean I'm so scared of it and have been since seeing the movie JAWS at 5 years old after my older brother who was babysitting me let me watch it. In real life I am paralyzed from the waist down and wheelchair bound but in the nightmare I had after watching the movie I was able to walk and was walking near a boat ramp when I slipped and went clear to the middle of the ocean. I looked back and saw a shark chasing me so started swimming as fast as I could to shore and as soon as I got to the beach I noticed the bottom half of my body completely gone. No oceans for me!!!
I've had this thought about y'alls pasta salad since the beginning! I introduced my kids at a very young age to "balsamic" dressings and it is acquired. I always wondered your ratios or how they all love this! You put sugar in it!?? When I make the food a little too spicy I add sugar! It looks great, but i get your point it might be weird at first! I just can't believe you got that many kids to love it!!
Scotland is beautiful, there is so much history, beautiful county side but also towns and villages for all you need. I think you would love it. There is so much more to the UK than just London, we have 4 beautiful countries to explore. Xx

I love Jerad's outlook on spending for the kids. Unfortunately you have a few who shall remain nameless, who seem to justify in their head that they don't spend that much. It would be fun to have them keep track for a month so they can see where the money goes. Also, I'm not a fan of food in the bedroom. That attracts ants, bugs, etc. A simple snack might be okay, but where do you draw the line. My son used to do the same with his dinner, and thought I'd be the maid and clean it up. I started stacking his plates on his bed every night that he left the plate in his room. Worked wonders.

Omg if yall want a cabin, come to the smokey mountains in east Tennessee, you have Dollywood theme park (dolly parton) and sooooop many activities, it's a huge tourist place and omg it's soooo fun and the cabins are beautiful
I drive a 2016 GMC yukon and i love it ! My mom drives a 2021 GMC Denali and she loves it ! My brother and dad both have a 2020-2022 GMC Sierra and we have 2 other GMCs in the family ! They are great reliable trucks !!!! With a little bit of luxury and not as much of the price !!!
Suggestion; maybe so one or two kids don't get so many chores, change the rule to the person who leaves things out gets that chore for 24 hours (they must finish it that day and the next day) then chores return to the person assigned until someone else goofes up. He might get 7 chores in 1 day, but not for weeks or months :)
I love Scotland so much!! I went there in summer 2023 and it was so fun! Also the food is amazing and the whole country is so chill and awesome. If y’all go I hope you guys have fun!!
I 100% get where you are coming from with the new car. The fact that the kids don't like the bus and want it gone kind of surprises me. Though the number that live at home is going down (still not small by any means) it is the one thing you all can still be together in and includes those that have moved out. Without a truck it also still comes in very handy for large grocery hauls and other ways to transport larger items. I think the bus should stay. I have a feeling it will be missed for many reasons once gone and there will be regret. I know my vote doesn't count (LOL) but being a viewer, you all use it for multiple things more than I think you realize!
A cruise would be great, supplying a big family food while out & about costs a fortune, and wastes holiday time. Cruises include all meals, have free 3 course fancy sit down dinning included too, it’s not just buffets. Cruises have communication apps to help keep large groups like yours in contact. Making it easier for everyone to seperate to do separate activities, they have kid, and teen groups too with free activities.
You guys should definitely come to Ireland it may be small but it has the most amazing mountains and beautiful beaches and coves during the summer, you should visit Howth and balscadden beach (Dublin)they are so popular during summer because there are so pretty.
Don’t worry about when you vlog. Make the ones you do do special. Those who vlog everyday sometimes feel like they’re being forced and fake. You an Crazy Pieces are true and authentic.
My mom and dad have a Ford Explorer. My dad has bucket seats and my mom has three seats in the middle row. I think that type of car could really be a good fit for your family!
personally, i think you can’t sell the van for a while. the van is the only vehicle that can fit ALL of you, and the kids say “we have two cars” but that’s twice as much gas you’re using, and less storage space for suitcases and stuff for when you visit Saint Johns. Also, when Shelly bought those pallets of random items it took so many trips WITH the van, can you imagine how many trips it would’ve taken if you had to take either/both of the cars? I say let the teens drive the car with the messed up seat, get a new car for you, and if they do well with the shared car then give them the other car as well and get another new one

Or just take the dishes to the sink once done with it, and if you can’t do that then they shouldn’t be allowed food or drinks in their room.

What about giving the house to family so you could then have a place for visiting. Could Destiny live there? Maybe do pasta salad once a month on a set day like always on the 5th. As for meal planning, maybe those who have their meal plan ready on Sunday get some kind of reward.

My kids are adults now and say we had the same thing everyday. I rotated meals every 2 weeks between 8-12 meals. Meal planning was hard with 2 kids, I can't imagine with your family!
You can do Scotland and Ireland in one holiday. And also include England and Wales and see bits of the whole place depending on how long you spend there. All together it's just a bit bigger than the whole of Arizona. It's beautiful!❤
I live in Scotland and to do it properly its not doing it at same time as rest of uk.. you can easily spend a week on East Coast another week driving the nc 500 and you've not touched the west coast or the borders etc ..its going to feel very cramped doing Ireland and any of England at same time
@@lornahutchens4598 I know. I don't think they are going to spend a whole holiday driving with so many kids in one van. Meant it more like if they wanted to visit the two castle's they talked about and see some other stuff, they can do that easily. Not if they're going for a few days, but you can see a lot in like two weeks.
We just bought a Volvo XC90 and looove It! It has 3 rows (7 seats). Not too huge, but great space for our family and extra trunk space.
It's cheaper to rent a house when you go to St.Jhons. In this way you can sell you house, if you are not going often, renting when you visit it's an option.

I really loved Shelly's idea of just everyday things on the vlog. I think if you do so many each week, the videos will start to feel forced and you will lose the spontaneity. I mean planning a vlog is not a bad thing but maybe a mix of both formats?

I just bought a Kia Serento. It has 3 rows and doesn’t feel like you are driving a huge SUV. I feel like it’s a compromise having the 3 rows but also being more compact and easier to drive for new drivers.
Visiting Scotland is an amazing idea. I live in England and have to say Scotland is absolutely beautiful there is lots of beautiful places to visit. Its also the same for England Ireland and Wales there is lots of castles from every century to visit and see. Just remember the weather in the UK is crazy in one day you can have snow rain hail and glorious sunshine haha. Just be prepared xx

For the car situation, we have a Ford expedition you can have 2 rows in the back or you can do captains chairs but it’s a very big car and can fit lots of ppl hope this helps!!
If you decide to go to Scotland, maybe you could do what my son and his friends did when they visited Ireland. They rented a houseboat, and hired a captain to navigate. That way they didn't have to worry about changing hotels and dragging their things from place to place. They had an absolute blast, and saw some wonderful sites.
You can take a cruise to Scotland. See a little bit of it and see how the weather is. Aubrey cruising isn't bad. I been on a few cruises and they can be fun.
My husband solve the leaving dishes in the bedroom with our daughter. He took her bedroom door off the hinges until she got in the habit of returning the dishes to the kitchen. It took about 2 months.
Watching the current conversation about vlog schedule. I don’t feel like you have to decide activities to vlog 3-5 times a week. We enjoy just the daily craziness. Especially love when a kid takes over the camera. While different perspectives.
I love how you're not throwing cars at your teens unlike Crystal who throws a car at her kids pretty much the second they get their permits and also throws them behind the wheel with little to no hesitation as soon as they get out of the DMV

Aubrey I'm with you! No cruise for me either. I won't even go to a beach near an ocean I'm so scared of it and have been since seeing the movie JAWS at 5 years old after my older brother who was babysitting me let me watch it. In real life I am paralyzed from the waist down and wheelchair bound but in the nightmare I had after watching the movie I was able to walk and was walking near a boat ramp when I slipped and went clear to the middle of the ocean. I looked back and saw a shark chasing me so started swimming as fast as I could to shore and as soon as I got to the beach I noticed the bottom half of my body completely gone. No oceans for me!!!

I've had this thought about y'alls pasta salad since the beginning! I introduced my kids at a very young age to "balsamic" dressings and it is acquired. I always wondered your ratios or how they all love this! You put sugar in it!?? When I make the food a little too spicy I add sugar!

I love Jerad's outlook on spending for the kids. Unfortunately you have a few who shall remain nameless, who seem to justify in their head that they don't spend that much. It would be fun to have them keep track for a month so they can see where the money goes. Also, I'm not a fan of food in the bedroom. That attracts ants, bugs, etc. A simple snack might be okay, but where do you draw the line. My son used to do the same with his dinner, and thought I'd be the maid and clean it up. I started stacking his plates on his bed every night that he left the plate in his room. Worked wonders.

Omg if yall want a cabin, come to the smokey mountains in east Tennessee, you have Dollywood theme park (dolly parton) and sooooop many activities, it's a huge tourist place and omg it's soooo fun and the cabins are beautiful
I think the teens can do the shopping and cooking when it their day to cook. Set up a menu on Sunday for the whole week.

Suggestion; maybe so one or two kids don't get so many chores, change the rule to the person who leaves things out gets that chore for 24 hours (they must finish it that day and the next day) then chores return to the person assigned until someone else goofes up. He might get 7 chores in 1 day, but not for weeks or months :)

I 100% get where you are coming from with the new car. The fact that the kids don't like the bus and want it gone kind of surprises me. Though the number that live at home is going down (still not small by any means) it is the one thing you all can still be together in and includes those that have moved out. Without a truck it also still comes in very handy for large grocery hauls and other ways to transport larger items. I think the bus should stay. I have a feeling it will be missed for many reasons once gone and there will be regret. I know my vote doesn't count (LOL) but being a viewer, you all use it for multiple things more than I think you realize!
We are from England but spend a lot of holidays in Scotland which is beautiful.
The literal only ‘fly in the ointment ‘ in the summer is the mozzies.
A cruise would be great, supplying a big family food while out & about costs a fortune, and wastes holiday time.
Cruises include all meals, have free 3 course fancy sit down dinning included too, it’s not just buffets.
Cruises have communication apps to help keep large groups like yours in contact. Making it easier for everyone to seperate to do separate activities, they have kid, and teen groups too with free activities.
You guys should definitely come to Ireland it may be small but it has the most amazing mountains and beautiful beaches and coves during the summer, you should visit Howth and balscadden beach (Dublin)they are so popular during summer because there are so pretty.

Don’t worry about when you vlog. Make the ones you do do special. Those who vlog everyday sometimes feel like they’re being forced and fake. You an Crazy Pieces are true and authentic.
My mom and dad have a Ford Explorer. My dad has bucket seats and my mom has three seats in the middle row. I think that type of car could really be a good fit for your family!
personally, i think you can’t sell the van for a while. the van is the only vehicle that can fit ALL of you, and the kids say “we have two cars” but that’s twice as much gas you’re using, and less storage space for suitcases and stuff for when you visit Saint Johns. Also, when Shelly bought those pallets of random items it took so many trips WITH the van, can you imagine how many trips it would’ve taken if you had to take either/both of the cars? I say let the teens drive the car with the messed up seat, get a new car for you, and if they do well with the shared car then give them the other car as well and get another new one
I drive a kia sorrento that I love....it has 3rd row seating. I get great gas mileage and it is great for budget minded families.
I love my Toyota 4Runner but the only downside to using the 3rd row is a very small trunk
I LOVE ❤ my Honda pilot. 3 rows and a big back for when I go SHOPPING!!! lol it drives and rides so well. Also doesn’t have many recalls.
