Absolutely loved this episode. The Artist Alley segment caught me a little off guard, but once I figured out what was going on (Beej trying to guess what everyone is selling), it became funnier and funnier! Always love new content and trying new things!
Ohhh dear that jerky's gonna hurt come monday. If you ever accidently ingest really hot chilli, the best way to numb the tongue is to put a bunch of olive oil on there to pull the chilli out, then spit out the oil. Really helped me when I underestimated how little spicetime would come out of some pickled habanero!
It's 2022, four years since this originally went up. I've watched this video probably a dozen times. And I'm only now noticing that during the intro for the Meme Scavenger Hunt they've made loss.jpg in magic cards on the table in front of them.

Okay, now I really want a superhero whose secret identity is never revealed, but every issue gives a different clue as to who it is. One issue we see where they live, one issue we see their biological sex (but then it's revealed they're transgender!), etc.
A question for other non-anglo/american viewers: Does Dank Ranked resonate with you? (if only there was a way to hide comments from the creators, because this is NOT criticism for LRR) I am genuinely curious, because it is the only form of LRR improv that not only doesn't resonate with me, but falls completely flat. I suspect it's because it draws on some culture that I just don't have, but again that doesn't explain why all other forms of LRR improv is hilarious. For reference, I am Danish but have been reading and watching English-language popular culture almost exclusively since I was ~11 (1993).
I'm from Croatia, and it depends on the episode. In general, it's funny enough, but I do get the feeling I'm not getting 100% out of it. Overall, I'm fine with it. It's amusing at worst, simply because LRR could make a live vasectomy seem like a good time...
As an american viewer, I find Dank Ranked to be quite hit-or-miss for me. Some times it goes well, some times... not so much. Couldn't actually say what particularly works or doesn't, though.
Christopher Thorn yeah, all the segments now have either weak concepts or a complete dependence on improv. I used to watch about 75% of the skits but now I only watch one at most. I wish they put more effort in prep and development of concepts. Also the commodore hustle EP was boring. The skit that did work was the picture meme one, because there was effort and lots of preplanning. I wish them the best, but hope they can improve a bit.
I think it depends on the segment. I think the heavy dependence on memes and, like, bits that are really only going to be enjoy by a super specific group of fans are a little weak, but overall I really liked this episode. One thing that does seem to be getting weak are the highlight reels. Those were my absolute favorites, now it's like they just clipped totally random moments a lot of the time because there wasn't enough really great stuff (which I know can't be the case).

I agree, that may be more of the issue of super specific jokes, pretty much all shows like this suffer from that but for some reason its worse here.
