i bought a yoga mat on amazon last year that i cut up for various motorcycle related things. It's good for making battery mats or filler to hold a battery tightly in place if it's a little smaller than the battery box. I've used it for a lot of things.
WD40 is my go-to for removing sticky stuff on delicate surfaces. On something a little more resilient I use pain thinners 🙂 That was a huge improvement on the seat too!
Just ordered my tickets to Barber Vintage Festival!! Got a camping spot too. Probably going to bring my E-Bike (Juiced Scorpion) this year. Hope the weather is cool and dry!
I’ve used warm water and Meguiar’s car wash (wax-free) before on a seat from an old Trans Am with the duct tape vinyl repair. I used a medium bristle toothbrush for the stubborn residue with some elbow grease. Followed by 50% IPA to remove any tape residue. Paint it? Not if you can save it. It’ll only have an original paint job once.
Eric, Sounds like you have a good plan on what you’re doing to it from a paint and decal standpoint. I’m curious if ST70 badges will be available? Replacing the coil is the hardest thing to do on these motorcycles in my opinion. If a complete tare down I put the coil on as soon as the body is painted. I bought a 1/4 inch swivel joint for my 1/4 inch ratchet and a long 10mm box wrench 😂to replace coils with and it’s still not easy as you know.
Wait, wait wait wait, swearing while working on a bike, curious. I've never heard of such a thing, it must certainly be an unsavory subject to restrain from bending to your demands. Most peculiar ! I have one and am dreading starting to work on it, I don't have small hands and my vocabulary can get, well, quite colorful at times of increased stress. The struggle is real. I go for the spring rolls or pho, We have a cafe here in me city called 'Pho Kekeah".
I would recommend, if you have spark ignore it. If it ain’t failed yet!!! Or if you have to remove the engine change it then. Thanks for watching. BTW I love pho,🍜
6 hp, 45 mph of sheer Terror.
Yes it is. 🤣😂🤣
The seat looks 1000% better.
Shocking results. Thanks for watching.
Use Goo Gone for that tape.

This seat came out so good. That sticky vinyl is so in inexpensive. Think I got it from Temu. Thanks for watching.
Mineral spirits work well too, less expensive
@@robertspear9134 I’ve got 5 litres of both. I buy everything in bulk, it’s costs basically nothing to use a squirt or two to remove goo…
Goo Gone? Ah DubbyaDee!! Good job! ..... Now I want Chinees Food. OMG!! the Wonkamobile!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 You are a Wizard!! (Harry)
🤣😂🤣thanks so much for watching.
First start is always a thrill! Would love to restore one of these but so would everyone else and so they are expensive even when junk.
Nothing like a first start. There are some affordable projects out there. Thanks for watching.
I had to smile at your attempts to elicit contributions to the comments section to boost the YT algorithm. I would never fall for that !
Darn you saw through my evil plan!!! 😂🤣😂Thanks for watching
That'll clean up NICE.
I think so too! Thanks for watching.

Awesome!!! It's the BEST!! Camping is so much fun! We are at vendor spot G-14. More on that later.
I heard that WD-40 takes off the sticky residue.
I think it worked better than the alcohol. 🍺 Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the tips. I agree on the paint. Only original once. Not sure how much is left. It’s pretty faded.

On reassembly you need a long magnet to get all the hardware you drop. 🤣😂🤣
Yes, a magnet is sure handy too! I like the flexible magnet from GoPro. MotionPro I meant! 🤪
Nice job on the seat and as always a great video
It was shocking how good the seat came out. Thanks for watching
Lighter fluid or gas🤠🇺🇸 5:43
Believe me I thought about setting it on fire while scrubbing the residue off!!😂🤣😂🔥 JK don’t know why I didn’t think about gas.
Keep the original paint
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Preclean or brake cleaner
That’s a great tip. Thanks for watching.
Two bolts pulls the engine out , much easier than swearing and cursing at the coil
You are right!!! I did get to exercise my can do attitude.🤣😂🤣

Made by tiny Asian hands.goo gone I use for tape and sticky residue.
Thought I was going to have to drop the engine to change the coil!😂😂😂
