When i saw the thumbnail for this video...the cane was so good, i thought you made it with an extruder!!!

      Probably the simpler solution!
Heart canes are one of those ones that are easy to do from scratch if you're not super picky though.

@Tooaquarius yeah, see I wouldn't have the patience to do it from scratch. Maybe with the extruder...but only if I REALLY want to make it 😂
I'm not much of a cane maker, but love watching others make them.

@@madebymellyjewelry That's totally fair! I'm not a great faux or surface decoration clayer... beads, canes, and small sculpture are the thing for me.

It always surprises me just how much cane you have at the end to work with 🌈 can you show us things you make with your offcuts if you don’t mix them into another colour like Natasha beads etc

Most of the canes I make are pretty big for an average clayer because I am making the canes to sell... this one I'm not sure what I'll do with it but I have a batch of other scraps that are destined to become Natashas and swirly lentils because they're fun colours that won't mix into another colour well so I can probably at least do a short of that :)
These days I really do end up making them into other flat colours because it's an easier starting point for me to work with.
