Nothing wrong with transitioning... I did it in 2007.. my profile pic was taken in 2011.. currently my hair s waist length after cutting & trimming it several times, most recent being when I trimmed/cut it myself in the beginning of Nov. & then I went to the salon last week where it was trimmed again. I wish I had the courage to cut my hair in a cute cropped cut though but I can not lie, I AM a coward, I AM attached. lbvvs
I have to disagree about the big chop. It's a personal choice and what each individual is ready for in their hair journey. There's nothing wrong with growing and gradually trimming off the relaxed portion of the hair. With proper technique, hair care regimine, and products, the two textures are manageable. If you are transitioning and your stylist tries to convince you to big chop and that's not what you want, then that IS NOT the stylist to go on this journey with you. They either do not know how to manage your hair or they don't want to be bothered doing so. Find someone who will guide you through the process and will respect your wanting to transition.
Yes girl!! Too many people I know that did the big chop didn't like the first two years of it meanwhile others did. It depends on your preference and your hair texture. My hair is long, past my backs midline but permed. I stopped perming 6 months ago and noticed how much fuller it is and it is not hard to manage (for now). Every 2 months I do a trim. I will gradually cut the perm out.
Nigeria Henderson Stay on that transition journey. It's a learning curve and you need a regimine that includes protein. I have been doing ayuvedic hair care for the past few months and my hair is stronger, healthy and the usual breakage seen in transitioning hair isn't happening! I started watching a channel by Curly Proverbz and she breaks it down. Using henna and other Indian herbs has changed the game for me.
iiiii LOVE the hairdresser she is so bubbly and gets so happy and eXcited about her work I would LOVE to get my hair done by her blessed hands ALL the time every time it needs done🙌🙌💙💙💜💜 it looks sooo niiice
Oh yes I sooo agree every woman should do the big chop there is nothing more liberating for a woman to do if you have always had long hair. Once I did I never went back. Gillian you're the best. Aloha from Hawaii
I know you say the brand of the flat iron is babybliss pro but what model is it? Titanium or what? There are so many different ones. Your work is amazing!
Suzanne James if she wrap it at night maybe 2 weeks. Her hair should revert back if she used a heat protectant. The stylist has a website with a list of prices.
I love her videos I started watching her on Facebook but what I did notice is she's a cutter I've never seen her do long hair&if it was it wasn't when she was done I would love to see her do hair past neck/ shoulder length still ❤❤❤ her videos and the work she does
Man I've just discovered your channel today and I've already watched few of your videos . I'm ready to travel from out of state for hair apt good lord 😪😅😆😭😀😝😂🤣😐😃🤤
I hate when you go to a professional and the statement of I DON'T WANT TO DO 2 TEXTURES IS SO TACKY.YOUR CLIENTS ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE NOT RUDENESS. EVERY WOMAN DOES NOT WANT TO WALK AROUND BALD
G H as a professional client's will not understand why their hair won't hold curls, or a certain style and overall some client's hair is damaged and then you'll blame the stylist.
WoW Beauty Salon Studio by Lesley Santafield as a professional, it's your job to educate, but if the client isn't ready to chop all their hair off you need to guide them and help them with a regimine. Also, you can do rod sets, roller sets etc on transitioning hair. ..there are videos on TH-cam showing heatless styles for transitioners. Also, protective styling is an option if the hair can handle braids.
Adrienne Holliday Being self-employed you can pick and choose your ideal clientele. Also understand yes it is our responsibility to educate client's but as a professional I find it unprofessional to tell a client that is in your chair to TH-cam their options for hair maintenance. Maybe you don't like her delivery of what she said at the end of the day you should respect someone's transparency in their profession.
This hairdresser is so darn CUTE. She loves doing what she does ... Creating healthy hair ART!
