Oh my gosh Maymay! I knew that I would find a tutorial on making your own envelopes without a punch board by simply typing "Maymay made it envelope" in the search bar! I love you soooo much! Thank you for being you! I can always count on you to accommodate we who don't have all the fancy tools (yet).... 😘

I could HUG you right now!!! I own the Crafters Companion and have yet to begin to discover it all and watch the videos. So far used it for scoring, but for only one card type and size. Envelopes, never imagined it would be so simple now!! I can refer to the booklet and get the measurements instead of wasting a whole day guessing and watching videos on how to make an "any size envelope". Lesson learned. If you have something as brilliant as the score board - USE IT!!! am laughing but so cross with myself for the day lost.....now having fun making them.!!! You are the best!!

Oh my dear, YOU are so clever! I LOVE your precious accent! YOU are one of my TOP Fav’s on here! You don’t complicate things! I do have a question for you though..WHAT adhesive can I use IF I’m sending my envelopes to others to SEAL when THEY use them for the first time? Thank you so much in advance! Blessings!

Amy, thank you, as always, for your tips and techniques. Your no nonsense style and projects are always wonderful.
Just a small suggestion of my own. When you have a card that has 'sticky out bits' making it difficult to place in the envelope - you can always address the envelope first (which I do anyway) then put your card in the other way - the front of the card facing the address side of the envelope. Then it should slide in much easier. I like to do it this way so that the recipient has to turn the card to see the front - revealing the surprise of the card and not sneak peeking! ;) Julie

Brilliant! Although I have an envelope board, I would use your technique for the odd sizes rather than interpolate from the measurement chart on the board - so much simpler. I’ve watched quite a few envelope making videos and yours makes the most sense by far.

Got two envelope makers, the crafters companion, and the punch board but yesterday I made a hexagons card and had a dickens of a time making an envelope. What kind of tape do you hold it together with? Do you use the same tape to hold the envelope together as you do with the flap that the receiver opens? I imagine you'd need something sturdy to hold it together, yet something not so heavy for the flap.

What is the best paper to use for envelopes. You first was just copy paper. Does that hold up? Is card stock better? More expensive I know. What do you use for your envelopes?

    • @MaymayMadeIt

I buy pre made envelopes. I am not as fond of making them. But when I do make them I use paper rather than card stock. The envelopes I purchase are made of paper as well.

Thank you :) I LOVE ALL of your videos! You know EVERYTHING! LOL So I am hoping you might be able to help me figure out how to do the straight flap envelopes in LARGE sizes?? :D LOL I make a lot of 6x6 and 8x8 cards and always only get to use the *pointed* style envelopes, like you have done here...I measure the diagonal of the card...add ONE inch to that size and cut a square out just like you did :) But, HOW do I make the straight flap ones in these sizes, or any odd size? Do you know? LOL Thanks again for *being YOU*!
