Lyrics:
Where I was born, nothing is promised
My life is filled with less hope than the prophecies of Nostradamus
Omega marks the ending of predictability
Birth of agility
Who will it be to test me and expose their futility?
Iron like a lion from Zion
Stop tryin' so hard, I think I smell your brain cells fryin'
The family's behind you if you're worthy
Philosophies developed deep in the back streets of dirty Jersey
Troops with scully hats and Timberland boots
No more break-dancing for loot
Niggas hustle and shoot
In the Garden State, it grows stink weeds and criminals
Government funds are minimal, oppression's subliminal

Ms hill goes crazy on this her flow😍 best female rapper ever
She drops one of the GREATEST rap verse you'll ever hear 😍. This verse alone solidified her as the greatest female rapper, and one of the best......male or female! FACT!
I came around to listening to this album in the gym recently (after 5+ years). The whole album hits different!!👌
The Fugees production was undeatble. 90's hiphop/Boom bap was top tier
Wyclef
I miss music like this. Shout out to my fellow 90s babies.
The Score, The Be(a)st album, My favorite album since I'm a young boy, at 35 I still listen to The Fugees at a time where the Mask is mandatory..
A true masterpiece. Flawless!
38 and agree. The Score will always be wayyyyy tf up there at the top of my list, which is typically made up of stuff like Pink Floyd, Tool, Radiohead, NOFX, Grateful Dead, and other classics like that.
Testament to the power of an 11/10 album
@@viniciusleite9437 “true masterpiece“ hear, hear!!!
I’m 37 and go back to this album often.
Best album ever! Believe it or not: this album saved my soul in one of the most difficult periods of my life. That was 20 years ago. Hearing The Score again after all these years….still beyond words. Without a doubt: one of te most brilliant albums ever written. These artists have my deepest gratitude 🙏.
These days I am loosing my hearing based on a shitty disease. The most scary part to me is to lose my music and the memories I have if I can’t hear anymore. One thing is for sure: no matter how many musical memories I might lose: I will never, ever forget The Score. Ever! Thanks for that. 🙏 From bottom of my ❤️ thank you guys. (You have no idea) Incredible!
Damn that sucks.. I pray music/sound doesn't get taken away from you. As a fellow music lover I can only imagine
Glad you made it through and are still here.
agreed
❤ one love bro
@@JohnRapheal7 maybe this is a late response: but thank you….. It is challenging, but yeah… I can still hear the the music. Thank God! But not in the same way I use to. I am greatfull for that. Even, though it’s hard: I will never hear my favorite music with full base tones anymore, nor Dolby Surround (Period) . But within this disease, this bad, I am doing fine, right now and am greatfull for that. Even though I am seriously partially deaf, I am still enjoying my favorite music.
For as long as I can. 🙏
MY FUCKIN SONG 😍 lauryn can’t be touched !!!
Best album by the Fugees... I started bumping their music in 2005 on my bus ride to high school... 🎤
Pound for pound this is the best hip hop album ever
Yes.
Honestly this is facts.
Tony spittin facts
@@fattony4957 Fat Tony spittin facts too
Eh except for Miss Hill’s Miseducation?
Best song on the album. Take me back to ‘96 as that curious 5 year old discovering this album.
I’ve gotta agree with ya. Hard to choose the best on an LP with nothing but bangers, but there must be one. And this track is it
John forte's verse is crazy.
Lauryn on this... so good.
Alhamdulilah, I caught that "at night Shaytan don't play line"
This still hits hard 👊
Sure does 😀
This album is the sound track to my younger days! Makes me emotional!!
This is my favourite tune of all times. Hands down. "Cause I've seen fire and I've seen rain" L Boogie had dope different candences. I'd be on my scaly hats and timberland boots because of this song.
Music meant something...
It's a bad ass tune on a different level all together, my LAURYN went hard, John Forte fried it, PRAS did great and WYCLEF gave that feel. Confusion too much but good to the ear.
..
I Love it 😘
LH drops one of the GREATEST rap verse you'll ever hear 😍. This verse alone solidified her as the greatest female rapper, and one of the best......male or female! FACT!
I came around to listening to this album in the gym recently (after 5+ years). Any classic album / song, hits different after a while!!👌
Ain’t no album 💿 like this ever :))))))
I'm feeling again like in 90s! 🎧
Some dwell in hotels with jezebels..... 😂 🤣
THAT LINE.
John Forte was the featuring man that made this album legendary.
OK.... OK... RELAX
Smh
Word. He was the icing on the cake.
Laurens verses make the album and all the guests on the album all shine. Pras and Wyclef are just there. Every guest murdered it. Even Akon is on one of the Fugeela remixes.
John forte was the low key star of the album.
John Forte Killed every verse on this album.
He was good but Lauryn Hill was the star 🌟 ✨ Don't get that mistaken
@@comqlicatedrepublix5103 She stands out the most, but they all bring their own flow
@@AmaruHusband True but she was still the most memorable member. Also most people that enjoyed or bought their albums mostly praised her or remember her verses/chorus.
True he delivers on every song he was featured on in the album
I think lyrically this song may be their apex. Ms. Hill's verse is jaw-droppingly good
I was in college when this came out. This one girl I was hanging out with would only listen to alternative rock and she was a little grungy. I played this album for her and this was the first "rap" album she liked. HA
Probably the best song on the album
Family MATTERS - defend yours and get respect - can’t stand for more than one - you done 💪
💪🏿
Jon Forte and Lauryn were lyrical masters.....wish we had more from them but we give thanks for the blessings we do have.
Lauryn Hills Verse is one of the best ever
Yessss
I love the storytelling in this album so much. Honestly so underrated.
One of the dopiest crew tacks of the 90's.... Praz best vers ever..... Lauren went off.... John Forte snapped.
No Pras here. Omega, Wyclef, Wyclef, Lauryn Hill and John Forte'
@@ndujamz Damn... You're right. I always thought that was Pras... Wow... Good looking.
Every verse lauryn has ever spit is FIRE...! DAT NAS VERSE.. OH MY GAWD!
Best track on an epic album
Today 13/Oct/2023 this song came into my mind 15 years ago i knew song when i was in high school, i had to search in TH-cam, and who so ever created the guitar-like sound take's me away, and instrumental is completely out of this world

This could be the best hip hop
Album ever !! Still jamming this in 2022 😎
Me 2 ✊🏿
This song is a masterpiece from an undisputedly classic album...that's all that needs to be said...
If someone asks you what your favorite song on this album is, you might say "Fu-Gee-La" or "Ready or not". But my all-time favorite is definitely this song!
Unos litros de cerveza, un parque, luna llena, colegas y Fugees
Always thought Lauren hill murdered everyone on this track. She is just on another level
I ain’t going to say the best album ever, but this album is dope as hell… definitely a great album.
2023 TILL THIS DAY, the instrumental is crazy 🔥🔥
Give clef his props please
Everybody went IN!!
I played this album for my 5 year old , he can't get enough lol 🔥.
One of the last good rap albums
Haitian Sicilianz
Eternal hip hop. Transformative, revolutionary and prophetic.
This is my favorite Ms. Hill verse of all time. She is bodying 90% of her contemporaries and any of these dudes out now with some buzz.
This song, then the album was my introduction to rap along with the chronic' dun make em like it anymore.fo' shame
YOU ARE WELCOME
The line "no more break dancing for loot niggaz hustle n shoot" just popped in my head..came to listen
Lauryn killed it...
HipHop of the highest calibre
Wyclef fucking snapped on this!!
2024 bullshit rap brought me here
Lauryn GOAT fr.
The guitar behind is Atahualpa Yupanki? who can tell me What song is?
Thnkz!!
The way that Wyclef entry on this track to destroy everything man ... word up 🤘🏻
Extremamente bem produzido. Sem palavras!
I HAVE NO IDEA.... SEEMS FRESH, FRENCH AND APPROVING.... FINE
😂😂 he ain't Biggie love😂

This is the greatest hip hop track ever created .

Don't know about the best. But yes, it was a classic
Jamaica here.
Been listening to this album since early high school days. 1996-97….❤❤best album ever still kills todays music hands down.
“Where I was born, nothin is promised/ my life is filled with less hope than the prophesies of Nostradamus…”
These opening bars set the track on fire and it only got hotter from there 🎤🔥
Case in point my daughter's this neighborhood and the lack of respect and pure desire for their destruction and MISSIONS"BIGGER VISIONS"
WHAT?
Lauren Hill snapped so hard on her verse. I don't care if she is racist. Shit spit so hard on this song
Believe flash back is the name 👊👍
Idk. That midnight marauders was right there
That boy said , In the Garden it goes stinks to criminals.
