  • Vermeer BC 1000 Feed wheel replacement. I unfortunately didn’t get all of the process on video. I got what I could, and do my best to explain what is needed if you need to replace a broken feed wheel shaft. I could not find any information on this process. Hopefully this video will help you with the process. Thank you for watching my video.

You are welcome. I could not find any information on this subject when I had my problem with it. So I’m hoping it helps others with similar issues.

Thanks for this video! I am currently trying to remove the feed wheel on ours as well as something seems to be bent but no luck... I'm wanting to remove the entire swing arm if possible, would appreciate any tips you may have?
Is it essential to have the arm jacked up for the wheel to come free do you know?
    Many thanks in advance

I did not have to remove the swing arm when I removed the feed wheel. But I did have to jack up the swing arm up as far as it would go. I had another machine years ago and I had a nasty crack in the feed arm and I think the Machanic removed it completely to grind and weld. I remember him hammering it back on. Best I remember was a bearing under it. I don’t know how he got it off. I’ll look at mine again tomorrow and call my mechanic friend and see if he knows more. I would encourage you to call Vermeer, they are always helpful when I have questions. Probably closed until Tuesday because of the holiday tomorrow.

Hey boss man do you have a video of the removal of the feeder wheel process. The guy used a machine to press down on the feeder wheel lift bar and over time broke the hydraulic pump mount plate. So I assume I have to take the whole wheel out to get that out to get a good proper weld on it.

If you are talking about the plate attached to the pump, it’s probably best to pull it all out. It’s not that hard to pull if you have something to lift out the wheel. It’s really heavy. But I didn’t pull the plate off so I don’t know about that part. I did have to weld an older machine and I didn’t pull it out. I just used a grinder and cut a huge V and was able to put weld back into the v cut with out removing it. I covered all the parts to I wouldn’t burn anything. Best of luck to you. Really sucks fixing stuff.
