For those who had trouble understanding her accent, just click on the word “more” in the description below the video and open the transcript to read what she said. Basically, you chain an even number of stitches (she did 14), and start on the 3rd chain from the hook with a half double crochet, followed in the next stitch by a slip stitch and repeat to EOR. You should end the row with a slip. Turn the work. Chain two. Start row two with a half double crochet into the slip stitch from row one, followed by a slip stitch into the half double crochet from row one. Repeat across row. You should end with a slip stitch into the half double crochet that began row one. Turn, chain two, and repeat. Just remember to HDC into the previous row’s slip stitch and slip stitch into the previous row’s HDC, and you should be fine.
Thank you! I’m sorry my accent is hard to understand. I’m investing in some better tech and I might look into adding subtitles too if people find it tricky. 🧡
@@concretegemscrochetYour speaking voice is perfectly clear, your accent is gentle and your spoken English is nice to listen to. There are many videos out there which are rendered unwatchable by the voice of the presenter, yours is not one of them. I’m not criticising your critic, they must have a reason for saying what they did but what that reason is they failed to say. So I say, your voice is fine, your instruction is clear and the stitch is very nice - keep up,the good work! Thank you very much.
I understood you just fine, Gemma. I love this stitch and you did a wonderful job explaining it and showing it! Thanks so much! ✨ ☺ ✨
Ah thank you so much! That is wonderful to hear! 😊
Is this tight woven? It's what I'm looking for, no gaps
Yes, it's fairly tight, especially if you go down a hook size to normal. I used it for a bag and there were no gaps!

🎀🧶🪡
I could understand you but you never said what size hook you used.
I’m so sorry. I used a 5mm hook with a worsted weight yarn 🧶
I found it hard to understand all that was being said.
I’m really sorry about that
I’m sorry, but I had a really hard time understanding what you were saying.
Oh no I’m really sorry to hear that. You could maybe try with closed captions.

@ oh thank you, that is so kind of you to say. I do appreciate it ☺️
Is this the grit stitch too ?
@ it’s not quite the same as the grit stitch, which is made with single crochet and chains. The crunch stitch uses Hdc and slip stitches. 😀
