Sometimes it's not just him. Cine2Nerdle, it turns out, uses TMDb to get the movie data. TMDb tries to pick just a few main tags per movie, and consequently doesn't have Tangled tagged as Fantasy or Romance (it's "Animation, Family, Adventure," but Adventure doesn't show up on C2N for some reason), but on IMDB (which presumably isn't used because it has way more main tags per movie, which would introduce needless clutter) it is tagged "Teen Fantasy" and "Teen Romance" in addition to a bunch of other things. The problem I see is that on TMDb tags like "Animation" and "Family" which have no relevance to the battle system are competing with genre tags, which leads to some movies that should be in a scoring genre getting left out. I think Tangled should *definitely* count for Fantasy, for example. Edit: I just checked Frozen and it *is* a Fantasy on TMDb but it's listed last and C2N cuts off the list at 3 tags, kumano5 deserved that point!
As someone who's never seen movies before I like to imagine every movie name he says is some horrible curse he's casting on his opponents and he's actually killing them. He's killing people. He's fucking killing them.
Adding the win conditions really changes the game. Now you can strategize much more thoroughly around your endgame, and it means you don’t just need to be a human IMDB
Lust caution was a surprising pivot but NL really was slopmaxxing, hence proving this game is not a gentleman's duel but just a dirty street brawl to decide who wins and who dies.
The commentary NL gives between his entries confidently exclaiming his prowess in any given wheelhouse, taunting his opponents that theyre in trouble, etc, makes for some of the most entertaining shit online right now
Either one goes crazy if you've watched even like, 2 movies from Hong Kong. You can get to both Jackie Chan and Wong Kar-Wai within two guesses from there.
I get romance not being it because it's more about Rapunzel cutting herself off from her mother than about her falling in love, but it not being a fantasy is straight up delusional

NL, just a tidbit, Michelle Yeoh leads to Tomorrow Never Dies with Pierce Brosnin, who has several Romance movies. It’s a great way out of the Everything, Everywhere All At Once and Crazy Rich Asians line.
I'll give him 'The Mexican' as a Romance, but, for a lot of them - he mistakes a movie having a romantic subplot as a 'Romance' genre film. They literally put romance subplots in 80%+ of all movies ever made, lol
Sure, but you can also say that about many "action comedies" or "romantic comedies" that are just action/romance with a few jokes thrown in. The difference is that those actually get the Comedy tag for some reason.
@@DvirPick Most actual Romance movies have a love scene or two, or where the main plot revolves around a character's romance or love triangle, and the resolution of it (usually a happy one) at the end. If an action movie has a couple that grow closer and kiss (or more) at the end, it's a subplot - and should not tag it by audiences or movie historians as a 'romance'. All the Action movies where criminals or evil business moguls are doing bad things for the sake of money does not make them 'Wall Street' movies

1:03:10 starting here, the following 10 seconds is one of the funniest NL moments in awhile for me. Him starting to sing, interrupting his song with a horrendous scream yet unchanging expression, then almost immediately flowing right back into the song. It's hitting me with so much dopamine
I would love a cine2nerdle but for music. its definitely what I'm more comfortable with. I love watching NL dominate with cinema though. So glad to see this game make a return on the channel
@wickedsamurai3323 I feel there's a significant amount of crossover if you include producers and record labels along with the band members. On top of there being a lot of tracks having a rap feature, I think it could definitely work.
Bro has been getting some easy matchups, not to discount his knowledge. But when I got near 1200 it started matching me with a bunch of 1500-1900s who either were cheating or had really solid strategies
I think there's a dedicated segment of the playerbase that doesn't technically cheat but definitely maintains sweaty spreadsheets where they've been optimizing routes and strategies for a year. Like, nobody >1500 is just playing off the dome at this point
Ah yes, I remember that day like it was just last week. It was January 10th, 2024 when the slop began... (All the descriptions say it's 2024, NL pls fix or I will curse a prescription of an unignorable itch 2x nightly when you're about to fall asleep)
