Thanks for the kind words. This was shot as part of a Doco I was making about a year ago. Unfortunatly the business changed hands soon after this was shot. So now I have to reshoot everything. There will be full interviews with both pilots and mechanics in the Doco.
Yes, but once the R22 has done a certain number of hours it has to go back to the factory for a complete rebuild, Basically its virtually scrap after so many hours of use.
The title should be "Assembling the R-22 Helicopter." No big deal, just more accurate for us TH-cam browsers. Building made me think it was going to be a factory video. Either way, I still enjoyed it.
Those cloth covers look good, I've never seen anyone using them. Mind you its been a while since I've flown an R22, maybe the factory never supplied them back then.
Good afternoon! Fascinating as it is theoretically easy transportation and assembly of this helicopter model. I am passionate about aeronavese helicopters, maybe one day I can get one for myself. Can you tell me the value of a kit like this? and value of the assembly please?
Great video guys! Good work! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Very interesting to see how it's done - any chance of a commentary version? Would be good to know a bit more about the tools and so on. Did you start it straight up - what is the first start procedure? Maaaan, I love helicopters!
2:21 those two nuts look smoked!! cant tell if they are or its just the focus on the camera.. As seen looks like some of my handy work when i was 10 years old and fixed everything with vise grips
This has to be the coolest unboxing videos ever.
Must feel like Christmas morning on that worhkshop floor.
That is the best Airfix kit ever! Must be a satisfying job to see it go to its new school or owner.
Peter after so many years i see you in you tube. How small world :-) You are also the best helicopter pilot instructor not only an excellent engineer.
Hi, I'm Ron Popeil, and this is the amazing Pocket Helicopter!!!!

3:10-3:30 so many memories of this.
Nice to see that done, I've flown a few, but if I'd have seen this first, I'd have been checking different nuts in the A check lol

Cool vidéo
It doesn't explain what tools to use and what parts go first
I always thought Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters looked liked the equivalent of a kit car in helicopter form ... I was right !!
Good afternoon!

What is the value of the assembly? Does the price of R22 today reach $ 400,000?
just Like Assembling A Backyard Porch
Now for the fun part; blade balance & tracking.
No torque wrenches?
True, not a pro assembly as most part should be torqued and some parts safety wired.
Torque wrench spotted at 1:43.
Thanks for the reply
