I don't and didn't call my hair ugly. I call it the transition stages....baby, teenager, adult, mature. I'm 10 months sisterlocks and love every minute of it.

I was also told that my hair was too short initially. I had about 1 to 2 inches. Plus the loctitian was booked up for months. So it worked out. I grew my hair to 4 inches and was able to start my microlocs. Its been a year and its grown so much.

I got my install today on 2.5 inches avg length!! I had a little bit of relaxer on the ends so my hair is locked all the down except where the relaxer is about a quarter of an inch. I am blessed to have one of the national instructors do mine. So I know she knows what’s best and she knew you and she spoke highly of you. I’m excited this is my second set of sister locks!!!🎉🎊❤️😁

What happened to your first set?
In the military and so hard being natural with 4c hair and i cut it all off and didn't feel feminine so now growing out my taper to get sister locks uuggh the grow process is to slow

What tool did you use to started the loc with?
If you have 1.5 inch of hair how much is the install? Do you do loc extensions? And how much do touch up cost as well?
I have regular locs and I’m 19 month’s loc’d. The frizz was so so bad. I didn’t mine the shrinkage. But the frizz i hated.

I want “Brother Loc’s” but I only want 200 loc’s and I want them interlocked with a 2 point rotation on 3 inches of hair if possible in a bricklayer pattern. What is a possible estimate of the cost for my request. I have medium density and medium strand width. I plan to crochet 1/4’’ diameter DIY loc extensions onto the interlocked hair myself. I want a better grid than I was able to do on myself in January. I can maintain my retightening myself.
Is this a reasonable request?
Yes, your request is reasonable but very specific. If you want about 200 locs, then you're looking at about 1/2 inch parting size or bigger (unless you have a small head, no hairline, etc). So now, my concern is the desired diameter of the loc extensions. It may work but be open to possibly a 3/8 of an inch diameter. The hair around the perimeter will definitely work with the 1/4" but the middle can be iffy since the hair in the middle is usually thicker. Also consider head circumference as well because that will affect the number of locs. So if your head is bigger, then the parting size will have to be bigger to not exceed 200 locs but may affect the size of the actual locs. Keep in mind that new locs start of skinny, then expanded and then condense. Cost will vary depending on who you go to as most people have a base price. My fee would be about $500 and of course final quote would be given at service after evaluating the hair. Hope all of that helped you with your process and good luck!
