Gerard is the perfect phantom. He has that edgy singing style that the phantom needs. It helps you understand the pain and anger behind his singing and that's perfect. He's my all time favorite phantom. Bravo Gerry
omg!! that scene that he talks about with the song masquerade when he's sitting in front of the monkey...is sooo touching. i cry EVERY time i see it! I totally forgive the phantom...he has such tender moments in the movie that you can see that he's human and searching for love and companionship but he doesn't trust the world to give him want he wants...so he decides to take it by force any which way necessary.
THE most delicious Phantom ever. I love Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman because I grew up with that version of this amazing musical and I will always cry during certain scenes after all these years no matter what who I'm watching or listening too, but Gerard is so sexy as the Phantom and does an amazing job with Emmy Rossum (especially seeing she was so young at the time). Needless to say, I have the DVD and I watch it as often as my tissues permit.
You know what would be funny? Seeing Phantom-Gerard and Gerard-Gerard in the same room talking to each other. Gerry talks about Erik likes he's a living person.

I never really like the movie, I felt like it wasn't filled with passion that you could get from watching it in person on a real stage, but it was good. Compared to other movies, it was still ok.
