What they missed in that particular episode is how the girl that got catfished found out her sister was also talking to the same fake profile but she refused to stop talking to the "guy" despite the "guy" two timing them both. So the girl that got catfished continued to talk to the "guy" causing a rift between her and her sister. Which is why I didn't feel bad for her at all when she found out it wasn't real. If that happened between my sister and I we would have teamed up against that person and kicked "him" to the curb. She ruined her relationship with her sister for a person that didn't even exist.

Believe it or not, there are many kids like her out there. What concerns me about that is how the two sisters were so easily divided. To me that says a lot about THEIR relationship because do you know there are tonnes of stories about siblings stealing their sister's husbands and vice versa? She probably won't trust her sister fully again but I think if the internet scam didn't show that, something more serious might. Maybe it's for the best.

I've been catfished before, and it does suck, and can be heart-breaking. It's true that there are usually red flags, but the problem with being catfished is simply that people are trusting. When you meet someone online and they seem really cool and honest and open, and you have a lot in common, it's easy to develop feelings for them. Once the feelings are there, even despite some red flags starting to pop up, you want to give the person the benefit of the doubt, because you care about them, and believe they really care about you, too, and wouldn't do something to hurt you. It's a complicated sort of mess that spawns out of something innocent and unpredictable. If you do get catfished, don't blame yourself too much. While naivete often does play a part, the majority of the blame falls on the one who is lying/pretending. They are purposefully taking advantage of your willingness to trust them for their own selfish reasons. The best advice is simply to take off the blinders, accept that they may be a catfish, and be on guard until they've proven beyond a doubt they are who they say (video chat is an ok method, but even that can be faked...crossdressing, someone else playing the part for them, etc.). I once had this girl in college, she was a project mate of mine, and she one day super proudly talked about this guy she had been talking to online who was super nice to her and how he had told her that he owned a flat in manhattan and he went to medical school full time and how he modelled on the side etc etc and I was like "lol no way that's real" and she showed me the pictures he had sent her and they were straight up professional pictures, not one casual photo in between, and I told her to reverse search them on google and she didn't know what that was so I showed her and obviously he turns out not to be real XD Some people are just a bit naive.
Catfish is terrible...not the thing of getting catfished, thats terrible in another way...but even the guy that is the main one get all pissed that the person isnt as hot as they portrayed..maybe they are just insecure. I was Catfished last month. I put in an application for the show. hopefully they can physically find this guy and we can shut him down.

Catfish is terrible...not the thing of getting catfished, thats terrible in another way...but even the guy that is the main one get all pissed that the person isnt as hot as they portrayed..maybe they are just insecure. I can understand if its a guy and not really a girl kinda thing, but if they are not as hot then the other person is just a terrible person
