you can use the track pad feature on the screen itself, not just the keyboard, to locate the input cursor. press and hold anyplace on the screen, then drag your finger around to locate the cursor where you want it.
Thanks, I just tried it. On my iPhone 6S you need to start with the long press on the keyboard and then it allows you to move you finger over the whole screen. Thanks for sharing that :-)
Need an updated version......(is this iOS 12? Stuff has changed)......My iPhone x has no home button.....The controls are very intuitive, and easy to learn though . Also, damn I want a gen 5 iPad now ( got a 2 currently watching this on it ). Still learned things! Thanks... Book marked this video.
Closing the apps does not speed your iPhone up as they don't slow things down as they are not strictly running. Clearing ram does speed things up though👍🏻
Ram is used for temporary storage of anything windows Linux macs or Android/iOS is working on so it won't delete any of your files files are on the nand flash because if they were stored in ram if you turned off the power they would all be gone unless it was sram. SRAM was used in every NES, SNES, a few n64 carts, and all gameboys up to the gameboy advance to save data on the cartridge and held the saved data in the ram by using a small battery inside the cartridge but if the iPhone used SRAM the data would get cleared when the battery is removed from the phone.
@@nathanmead140 There was no SRAM in games with no option to save your progress, as far as I'm concerned. Also, in games like Pokémon Gold and Silver, there was also a time-tracking feature that worked by using the cartridge's battery power to store time progression into the SRAM while the Game Boy was turned off.
4:45 *NO NO NO NO NO* Sorry Vince but the notion that closing apps "speeds up" or "saves battery" is a total myth. Apps should only be force closed if they are malfunctioning. Force closing apps will in fact waste battery life, cause apps to run slower, and potentially cause data-loss or malfunction of the apps. I wont get into it here but iOS is designed to manage resources all by itself and apps don't really "run in the background" in iOS. When it comes to iOS you're the user not the manager. There's a reason there is no "close all apps" button. I don't often log in to TH-cam, so on this special occasion I'd just like to add that I've been watching your videos for the past few weeks now and they're really entertaining and informative 😄
Also, apparently keeping the WiFi on does not eat the battery like it did on all of those Android phones I had in the past. Battery life has been phenomenal .
I do this on Android all the time and it does help free resources for other tasks that Android can do and doesn't drain the battery iOS is just dumb for not working exactly like Android does I'm only getting a iPhone for spoofing pkmn go on a different account
nathan mead Why? I have experienced both, and like I have stated the battery life on the iOS devices is much better than the android ones. Newer android devices may fare better, and my tablets(kindle, and iPad) seem pretty well matched as far as it goes... But iOS is designed so that apps that are opened but NOT RUNNING do not use power. You use more power opening and closing frequently used apps, and power if you opt for your open apps to refresh while idle....you can choose that option in settings.
10:35 that was my favorite movie I couple of years ago I watched it over and over again and I still remember it. So I am going to watch Wallace and grommet now.
10:44 I know there is some kind of delay when you using Lightning to HDMI cable to mirroring. Can you please tell me how bad is the delay if i play fast paced fps games like PUBG Mobile or Fortnite? Also i know most of smart TV support Game Mode dont know if that helps reduce the delay.
out of the video, vince, can you try sending a tv signal to a vcr wirelessly?, i can't seem to find any information of this in the web, i was looking to send an rf signal to a vcr to later connect the vcr to a vga monitor
I think you can buy or you used to be able to buy wireless AV (composite) senders and also wireless SCART. The problem is I think it only works one way so it is not bi directional, so one is a transmitter and one is a receiver. But if you just want to send it to a VGA monitor then that would be fine. They might be too expensive though so running a longer VGA cable might be a better solution unless you find a used one on eBay :-)
Fatal Tendency ....No the phone is "telling you" who it belongs to. Even cooler is the Find my iPhone setting. If you have more than one Apple device handy, or a significant other with one, you can see EXACTLY where one device is by tracking it with the other, down to a satellite photo, and gps coordinates of the location. I have it enabled on my iPhone and iPad, and they keep watch over one another. Really fascinating stuff.
Rip he forgot to show to 3D Touch the left edge of the screen. Or 3D Touch the left edge and quickly swipe right to go to the previous app. Also use two fingers on the iPad keyboard for a trackpad.
There is now a app called PS4 remote play This app is officially made by Sony If you want to install R-Play You have to pay money But the PS4 remote play app is FREE
1 ting: On my Samsung in the initial setup it asks you to write a message displayed in the upper part of your lock screen. Just as a comparision ;) But android has some more nice features.
There should be an updated version of this video. It would be very helpful especially with all the new features and changes there are
you can use the track pad feature on the screen itself, not just the keyboard, to locate the input cursor. press and hold anyplace on the screen, then drag your finger around to locate the cursor where you want it.

My Mate VINCE it also works in iOS 12 on devices without 3D Touch tested on iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5s
Wow, super useful tips there - I never knew 90% of that stuff!
Is it me or is vince like the best 😂
Really enjoyed this video and useful! Many features i didn’t know!
We need a part 2!
I don't even have an Iphone, this was very informative. A lot of neat features.
Excellent video, I’ve been using apple products for years and didn’t know some of these tips.
Cheers Vince keep up the good work.
Thanks :-)
This is a more useful Tips Video than the actual Apple Tips app

Nice one Vince, I never knew screen recording was so simple I’ll definitely be using that.
Hi, I noticed in one of your videos you were using a Sony HD camera which had pretty good quality. What model was it?
Thx! Didn’t know about field test, memory clean and calculator swipe.

What a great video, had my iPhone 6 for 3 years and didn't know half of this stuff
Number 4 was something I had no idea of! So useful!
Closing the apps does not speed your iPhone up as they don't slow things down as they are not strictly running. Clearing ram does speed things up though👍🏻
Thanks for sharing and correcting the info :-)
thanks so much! I can do cool stuff on my ipad and my mum's iphone. are there any cool tricks for android device?
When I clear the ram does that clear everything off the phone or just the temporary memory
Ram is used for temporary storage of anything windows Linux macs or Android/iOS is working on so it won't delete any of your files files are on the nand flash because if they were stored in ram if you turned off the power they would all be gone unless it was sram.

It works on every iPad
Vince can you please tell me if you can connect a Xbox one s controller to an iOS device
Hi, no I don't think you can. I personally haven't been able to do it and I don't think I have heard of it being done :-)
Thanks for the help anyway Vince
10:35 that was my favorite movie I couple of years ago I watched it over and over again and I still remember it. So I am going to watch Wallace and grommet now.

iOS 12 will release in the next few days. Then, on iPad, you will have to swipe down from the top right to het to control centre.

Some of the new iPads don’t have “customize controls” the new iPads just take you directly to the page
15:19 i need to know how to do that with an xbox one and a Nintendo Switch.
Camera adapter looks like a portable switch dock
Number 22 I kept doing that by accident this whole time. I thought my phone was messing up
That is exactly what I thought when I got the phone when trying to clear the background apps :-)
same but with 21 i was like WHY is it locked?
I’m watching this on iPad mini 4 I got last year.

Never had and never wanted any of Apples offerings!
I have a iPod touch 1st generation on iOS 1.1.5
