Great review…and multiverse effects! 😂 I think a person’s expectations of a book play a big role in their enjoyment of it. And that can go both ways. I almost prefer not knowing anything about a book going in, so I have a low bar. I’m looking forward to the TV show!

I agree, I have read a few books that I think if I'd gone into it blind I would of enjoyed it so much more.
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words :)

Solid review Benjamin! I broke my TBR to read this book because I saw your video pop up.
I actually liked the set up in the first half and felt that the exploring the multiverse was a little played out for the suspense and I just wanted Jason1 to be back with his family. Something I thought was silly was that Jason basically created a Reddit thread to speak to himself?? I know I get it, infinite universes infinite possibilities. But for him to think to do that (and actually have the means to do that) I thought was a little unbelievable. Anyway great video!

Wow that's so awesome! Thanks so much!
I agreed with the chat room thing, the idea of it just exisiting, and the password being what he would guess. The last act didn't land super well I think on reflection.
I definitely wanted him to get back to his family, but I adored when a book drags out that tension and dread :D so I could of done with at least a few more multiverses.

Great review.😊 I do see that some times the books that gets popular in the book community is not always that mind blowing. I have heard mixed reviews of this one.

I did like this book, atleast enough to buy a kindle version after i read it from the library. I do like Blake Crouch's books, but definitally Recursion > Wayward Pines > Dark Matter > Upgrade.
I found the end of the story meh, but i guess after that set up i can't think of anything better.
I hope the show is good! Fingers crossed.

I do have the first book of the Wayward Pines trilogy, so I should get to that one this year maybe. I had heard Recursion was good as well, I enjoyed this one enough to definitely check out his other books!
The last act was probably the weakest of the book, but I thought it was still fairly well done, just not earth shatteringly good.

I agree with you on all your points here. Fun book, but in no way as good as some say. 👍

Phew, I was a bit worried that I might be on my own with that one. One of the unfortunate side effects of reviews and booktube, books sometimes get overhyped and then can never live up to that.

I read this one over a year ago, it was nice, but not as good as some booktubers made it out to be. Good review!
