Well done Matt, even the add was interesting.
A third of the video was the advert, I know the revenue from ads is tempting and you deserve to generate an income for your efforts... but a minute would've sufficed. Keep going with the sponsors, grow the channel and enjoy the fruits of your labour, just watch it doesn't become an advert with a hint of motoring chat.

I used a Porsche 'specialist' for my Cayenne just for the stamp in the book. I think I would have had a perfectly good job at my local friendly mechanic though at less cost..

This is TH-cam a “FREE” website to view as many videos as you like. Key word here is that it’s FREE!! If you have to watch a couple of adverts then it is what it is. Same quality content with an advert in the middle. It’s not like Matt does this in every video. It’s a one off. Stop moaning and show him some support.

Just to be clear on using online banking from your mobile device. If you are worried about security, then always connect to your mobile provider cell network and not through a shared public WiFi. In any case your mobile device transactions are encrypted end to end once you are authenticated by your banking provider, and your online connection to your mobile network provider is already tunnelled through a IPVPN. So no need to set up an add on VPN such as your sponsor provides. Sitting in coffee shops, airport lounges etc and transferring data across a shared WiFi network via a laptop PC is a security risk to your data if not already encrypted. This is where a VPN may be beneficial to anyone snooping on the WiFi network segment that you are connected to. Far better to worry about your cars key fob identity being cloned, when either opening or locking your car with the remote key fob. Remote key fob cloning is a major security flaw and high end vehicles are more likely targets for theft in this manner than trying to unencrypt your mobile banking transactions.
Matt, we all support you doing ads, wouldn’t even mind them to be every video but 3 mins is a bit excessive, keeping it below 90 seconds would be ideal I’d say :)

I've had some very poor experiences with main dealer service; namely Jaguar. I stopped using them after one particularly bad experience & now use independent specialists. I may not get free tea, coffee & soft drinks, but I do get someone who's genuinely pleased to see me & cares about my car.
Didn’t realise I’d be spending so long watching an advert for some dodgy service I’d never use. It’s a bit random, isn’t it, talking about shaving products or internet products on a car video. At first, I thought you were being ironic. Then I realised these ads are genuine. Not ideal.
Strewth that service was strong money. I've a 2007 3.4 Boxster and a minor service is about what you figured at a specialist but low miles it's maybe worth it. Didn't mind the advert.....

Took the piss a bit with an advert that took up 33% of the video. You also pronounced Porsche wrong. Other than that, I did enjoy 67% of this vid. Keep’em coming, with lesser ads.
Shame many negative comments about the ad. Ignore/skip/mute it.......plenty of options. Always (30+ years) wanted a 911. Could have a Boxster but it doesn't do it for me. The Boxster may have 911 performance for half the price but it's a completely different car. After so long I'd feel like I was giving up on a dream. Not much longer though and I will need a nurse with a hoist to get in and out of either! Great video though Matt, loved you setting off after viewing the collision and realising how much performance there was.

I use Opera as my btowser, which has a VPN built in, and its FREE! There are also plenty free ad blockers and pop up blockers out there.
No it isn’t. I’ve done more than a hundred vids and two have been sponsored. They’re a necessary evil every now and then to pay the bills

Where I'm at the Pcar is pronounced in a variety of fashion from Porsch-uh to Por-shay to er..'Porch' from their OWNERS nontheless, depending on their etnicity. If we want to really get into it...even Mercedes Benz and BMW are pronounced wrong outside of Germany! And what about Ferrari and Maserati? Most owners can't even pronounce it the right way and they are names of persons (brothers). Get to high end watches and the same ' must-get-the-pronunciation-right-cuz-its-someone's-name' folks get it wrong too when it comes to JLC/UN/PP/VC and the ilk.
Er...I'm an Owner and don't mind one bit my SO and immediate families and friends calls my porker PORSCH or POSH.

I normally love your videos but the sole purpose of that one was to promote a VPN. You didn’t actually talk about the car or the service at all, other than to mention the cost but you did talk a lot about your sponsor.
I subscribe to your posts to see videos about cars, if I want to see videos about VPNs I can subscribe to a VPN site.
Admittedly it was an impromptu video during my work day. I usually film on my days off when I can devote more time to them

We have to watch two 5 second adds before the vlog and adds during the video and now the person giving the video advertising aswell is just to much sorry , no offence it’s just too much
I've done over 100 videos and 2 have been sponsored. I tread delicately and dont do them on every video because I know they're divisive. But, we all have bills to pay. Advertising is just part of modern life.
I hoping the sponsorship is earning you a lot of money, as it is going to lose you many viewers. Totally out of balance and also totally out of character with the excellent thing you have built here.

I'm a big fan, but that ad was awful, cringing. If you'd put it in a 30 minutes full review / comedy routine we are used to, maybe OK, but not a quick trip to a Manchester traffic jam. There must be a better way to improve the return you get for the effort I know you put into these, and they are appreciated.
Out of interest, I'd love to know how these sponsorships work... Do channel owners get a bung just for delivering the ad, or is the only revenue dependent on how many people take up your offer code?

It’s nice having a full main dealer service history on a 3-4yr old car but I feel it’s totally unnecessary on a car that is 14yrs old. As long as the car has all the service records and receipts I wouldn’t be too fussed on a car that old. To spend over £600 on a basic service is financial suicide. Especially where the parts are probably no more than £50.I’ve had loads of luxury cars in the past including a 2003 911 which I had privately serviced and as long as there’s history and all the MOT’s I’m generally happy. It had low mileage when I eventually sold it but not having full main dealer service history made no difference at all. A 2006 Boxter is not like buying a 2006 Ferrari which for reliability reasons I wouldn’t touch with a Ferrari serviced bargepole! Really enjoy your videos though Matt,

So you've swapped Furness Vale, Whaley Bridge and the A6 for Kingsway. Nowhere near as picturesque. Still, needs must, but surely Whaley Bridge - Macclesfield - Alderley Edge to Wilmslow would have been more like it. Come on man, raise your standards.
I would like a boxster too, right now I have a bus pass, only £65.50 a month, and buses are cleaner now because of the coronavirus. Plus, some people, on the bus, smell bad, not because of covid19 they simply don't wash, one day I will buy a car so I don't have to use public transport anymore, and sit on a urinated seat. I once saw a drunk on the bus urinating on the seat while she was sleeping. Someone later sat in that urine. Then there are beggars who ask everyone for money while you're trying to enjoy your bus journey to & from work, oh man, a boxster it is for me.

I’m clearly not the only person complaining about the very long Surfshark ad !! That waffle for 5 minutes was really taking the piss.. I am a Long term follower & love the channel, but if this becomes the norm, u will lose half ur subscribers.
I have owned a lot of cars, had wholesale licence. Just to buy a used car I liked, drive it a while, and sell it. However, I bought a new 2003 boxster S manual shift. Stilly favorite of all!

You are a bloke but Mate nobody wants to hear a long advert. It's bollox and you know it is. Just make it snappy and make it funny. Check out matt Armstrong for an example of how to deliver it. I understand you need to monetize and gets sponsors etc.
Porsche specialists. ( guys who use to work for Porsche) and now work for themselves. Are superb one in London is good and they come to you as long as you have a drive .... I get my cayman s done by a Porsche specialists. One of the best cars I have drove ...
A late 2017 or a 2018 Cayenne is on my radar will take about 2 years before I can afford one but its my dream car , Could save money and buy a F pace , but then I will be still lusting after the Porche.
Interesting, but don’t let the excitement of visiting Porche dealer override your “business” head! Better service & price from your local independent mechanic!! I don’t trust main dealers - man in suit takes your keys, then behind the scenes greasy apprentice bodges your pride & joy!! Mc/r VW botched my sons car when he took it in for “pedal box” recall - smashed all the steering column fittings AND admitted the apprentice did it!
Couldn't agree more on the local pronunciations stuff. People have a very selective idea on these things. I've never been abroad and head someone break out in an Essex twang to say 'London'.

In Germany we call a Boxter a Women’s car . Even you try hard to ignore that . The mans world in Porsche Germany starts with the Cayman and all other Porsche models .

So to “protect” your data you send it to a third party you don’t know and you pay them money and they give you a way to access copyrighted content. You might want to think about that.

Can’t blame you for the ads but they can be a pain especially when it’s interrupted by other ads too, but you need a bit of cash too. Keep um coming and don’t lose heart .

If it was "Porsh-uh" then we'd have to say "Bay Em Vay" instead of "Bee Em Double-U" but we don't. Either way you own one and you can call it what you like- I also own a 981 and I pronounce the word like I'm British, because I am. If I'm speaking to someone in German then I'll pronounce it that way. I did buy a Cayman instead of a Boxster, because I look like a twat in a convertible. I look like a twat in a coupé too, but people can't see me as easily ☺

Just caught up on this one, had a 2007 Cayman 987 for a couple of years, probably the best handling car I've ever had, servicing not too bad but OE parts were a bank buster, haven't regretted it though, loved it, great review btw.

A few blokes having a winge about the ad but somebody has to pay the bills, I bet none of them jumped onto Patreon and paid up. Love the Porsch Boxster as I think it goes back to Porsch's roots, it is a light more than adequately powered good handling 2 seater sports car. It was undersold and considered a hairdressers car until they became cheap enough used and the hairdresser tag disappeared. Bearded men who didn't prefer the company of other bearded men bought them and started talking about the handling qualities. Yes i know i dropped the e off but thats how we pronounce it. I agree if you were to pronounce every foreign thing correctly you are going to sound like a dick when saying croissant,brushetta and VW.
