The demographic they are catering to is getting their content from apps. Cable/satellite TV is dying industry. Eventually they probably will shift a lot more to YT or the BET stand alone app.

I'm researching on how to build certain apps...the right way. but it's a savage land...don't let the glasses and hipster front fool ya...these dudes will snatch ur ideas so fast! No mask. But I'm still looking for plenty code writers and developers to venture with. This is still somewhat the beginning...it's a lot that hasn't been tapped yet as far as future inventions thru apps and cyberspace, but u are in the perfect time!
I opened a show once for Mims in my city of San Diego. He liked my set, so he called me back up on stage to perform "This Is Why I'm Hot" with him. It was the first time I had ever felt validation from anyone outside the city and from someone who had made it big. He doesn't realize this, but it was a life changing moment for me, because it was the first time I realized I could really be something. I love him for that, and have looked up to him ever since. Now, I write songs for majors and I run my own indie label and publishing company. HUGE shout to MIMS, I have no doubt that he will continue to be a massive success in the tech world !

It just goes to show you that if the industry plans on "evolving" the way it is and how it conducts business then artists will remain lost without proper guidance. Executives will only be your friend if you're successful. It's like dealing with fake friendships, will never be by your side at your dirt lowest point in your life. Major labels are good but they're heartlessly deceptive in the end of the day. Going independent is better because the returns are greater and you'll have much LESS headaches to deal with when it comes to marketing an album, album production etc. Just really make sure that you're ready to deal with the pros and cons when stepping in. Rip to his parents.
