    How to write project description for AGILE PROJECTS?
    While writing descriptions for Agile Projects you need to follow these steps (instead of traditional IN, PL, EX, MC, CL phases of waterfall). The overall format essentially remains the same as discussed in the video:
    1. Requirements/Inception
    2. Design

    1. I am a research scientist on the company contract, but I have led the sub-projects. What should be my Job Title in the project description?

    Hi, This was a very informative video and helped clear a lot of doubts in my mind. Thank you!
    I do have a follow up question - you mentioned that we should include all process groups of the project in the description for each project. There can be situation where a project which i'm including in my application is ongoing and not all process groups have been concluded. Can we still include those or should we only focus on projects that have been completed for the purposes of this application?

      Hi, it's perfectly ok NOT to mention all PGs in your essays. Some projects can be work-in-progress, and they are acceptable as well. However, at least mention 1/2 where you have experienced all the 5 PGs.

    Hi Ray, thanks for guiding through.. the video was quite informative. I have a couple of questions :
    1) I’ve done my MBA and courses like Business Management and Operations Management .. can I count these courses as my 35 hours of training of professional education?
    2) when do we need to make the payment like once pmi hasapproved the application or prior to that?

    • @PMPwithRay
      @PMPwithRay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Following would be my responses:
      1. Yes you can. But you need to keep the transcript of your course as proof. I used my MBA project management 1.0 credit course to justify 35 contact hours (for my course 1.0 credit = 60 contact hours)
      2. You need to make payment when you want to book a date for the test. This should be within 365 days after your application has been approved.

My project was of social development background, it focussed on addressing Child Health and Nutrition. I coordinated the budget, Data collection, recording and monitoring of the target and achievements in terms of budget expenditure, community reach and impact. • @PMPwithRay
      @PMPwithRay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Priyanka. Right now (and for the foreseeable future) the current PMP exam (2021 format) will remain based on the PMP Examination Content Outline (ECO) [bit.ly/2QPSoo6] and will not be updated based on the new PMBOK 7. There has been an effort by PMI to "decouple" the PMP exam from the PMBOK Guide. The PMP exam is based on the PMBOK Guide, sixth edition as just ONE of the exam resources [bit.ly/2RegdpB] to cover the topics mentioned in the ECO. Remember, the ECO is the Bible!
      Here's what PMI says: "The PMBOK® Guide is an input to preparing for the PMP® exam - and is listed as a reference - but it is not a test-preparation tool. The new PMP® exam, which launched 2 January 2021, will continue to use the PMBOK® Guide - Sixth Edition as one of several references."
      I would suggest you read this FAQ document by PMI (esp. Q-17) that will clear most of your doubts regarding PMBOK7 and its linkage to the PMP Exam 2021: drive.google.com/file/d/1pxCISqfWqrZcjdpa9rbIZgfgxZvBipTL/view?usp=sharing

    Hi Ray,
    Thanks for your guidance on the PMP certification journey. I have couple of questions. I am Masters degree holder and have 15 years of project management experience. However, in a stretch of 3.5 years in last 8 years I was in non-PM profession. So, in my PMP application there will be a gap of 3.5 years, which means I can show only 4.5 years of PM experience in my application.
    1) Is it a cause of concern from approval perspective?
    2) Does it increase the chance of my application getting picked up for audit?
    3) If my application is picked up for audit, at what point in time I have to make the payment for exam scheduling? Is it before submitting the audit documents, or post-audit approval?
    Thank you.

    • @PMPwithRay
      @PMPwithRay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Suresh, as long as the 36 months of PM expereince is accrued within last 8 years of your application date, it does not matter if there is any gap or not. Hence, since you already have 4.5 yrs > 36 months ...it should be absolutely ok! (since you have master's degree...you need to show 36 months)
      1. No
      2. No. Audit is 100% randomly selected. You need to defend what you write in your application
      3. After you pass the audit & PMI gives you the go-ahead to book a slot you will be able to pay & book

So, try to get into PM field within your organization...better to work out your interest areas with your manager.

    Hi Ray, Thanks for such informative video. Working as IT Ops Engg Manager, basically managing operations team of 13 engineers. Per your guidance should i fill Project Manager as my Job Title?

      Not really. Only managing a team does not classify as a project. It's operational.

    Thank you Ray for the really informative video. My question is : is there a possibility to take the exam online?

      Yes, the exam is online only. There is a paper based version available but nobody generally takes it.
