Knife Making | Making a Devil-Face Collector Knife

- This time, a collection knife was designed and produced. The half face of the devil etched on the handle is from the anime killer seven. The first time I used the etching method to make a pattern, although it was a bit flawed, the overall effect looked great. I think this is the best-looking knife I have designed so far.

That's the way I like um. Polished to perfection. I got a hf buffer but it is worthless. Still have to do it by hand and that takes forever.

Over the years of watching various people make knives or various types of cutlery from pocket sized letter openers, to a $50K USD Samurai sword, not much has caught my eye. Much of them are just more of the same, as if the notion of "see one, you have seen them all". Nothing against the other peoples designs or styles, but of the 200 to 400 videos or websites that I have seen, they are just "OKAY", (purely my opinion only). I still very much appreciate their craftsmanship and various skill sets that come into action to make their works of art, but, over all, just nothing caught my eye .. But.. That is until I seen your knife Sir, I actually really like it. I like the shape of the slightly curved positive direction of the spine of the Tanto blade. I like the thickness of the steel scales with the wood center section scales, of course with the brass rivets peened out and ground flat. I like the thickness of the heel base of the blade. The etching as deep as it is, is a fancy touch, which most folks for some reason do not etch deep enough in my opinion, as they simply go for the accent etching, which has always looked like to me, like they sand blasted via S.S. stencil, and always looked cheap or lazy. But your etching, I like how deep it is, you would be able to feel the depth of yours. Some, if not many, do not like adding an eyelet at the pummel which would be part of the center blade material, cut to a point, for maybe glass breaking or striking tool, but that is something I would add, for future features.
Simply put, well done. It takes allot to get me rev'd up. This knife is a great design. It finished out exceptionally well. Lastly, I like heavy knives, and this unit, not only looks heavy, I bet it is heavy. Thank you for the inspiration of this design. I actually feel like making a knife for the first time in well over 10 years, after seeing your design. Again, Thank you.
Sometimes I worry because I don't have design inspiration. It takes a lot of time to design a new knife shape every time. Basically, I also browsed a lot of other knifemakers' designs and found my answer.
It's really difficult to stand out from the crowd.
@@creatorqi Well, on this design, you stand out among the crowd on this one. Allot of your other knives are fantastic, as well, but in my opinion, this unit is your flagship of success so far. Again, as stated, I was inspired by this design, So much so, that all day today, when I should have been doing yard work, I was in the shop cleaning up my last mess, so that I can try my hand at replicating you design, that is how inspired your design has been for me. I thank you for that. I actually want to make a matching set, that when laid together side by side, or sharp edges towards one another, that the scales on each knife share one half of my family crest. I have been smiling all day today, while doing work in the shop, when I am normally grumpy when I have to clean the shop...LOL, But I am so looking forwards to getting started on this project. It has been so long, that I don't even know if I remember how to fire the shop up to start banging away on some steel or not..LOL... I thank you very much. I love to feel inspired. I love feeling the drive to make something from nothing. The sense of accomplishment while having felt the drive to complete a matching mirror imaged set, is gonna feel great. Again, Thank you Sir. I needed this.
